First a little background information: I am prescribed 1mg clonazepam twice daily for GAD and 10mg zolpidem tartrate per night for chronic insomnia. I had surgery about a week ago and was prescribed hydrocodone for the pain. However it wasn't managing my pain adequately so my doctor bumped me up to 15mg of morphine sulfate ER per day.

I took the morphine about 5 hours ago along with my normal dose of clonazepam... which you would think would knock me out but here I am still tossing and turning. Would it be safe to take my zolpidem now since it has been 5 hours or should I wait a little longer, or possibly try to go without it for the night?

Quick replies would be appreciated as I would like to get to sleep sooner rather than later >.>

Well these are pretty low doses so I wouldn't say it's THAT dangerous. Well just for safety reasons it would be better to go without but if you need it, I would just take them.I assume you are presribed for some time already so you have some tolerance to benzos.
(Aside from never mix opi and benzo blah blah, yeah it's dangerous combo but usually with high doses of both, danger of mixing cns depressants is ofter exaggerated)

Thanks! I figured it would probably be okay due to my tolerance but I was still a little unsure. Better safe than sorry :)

I would like to apologize. I am new to the forums and was pretty out of it when I made this thread, so I was somewhat unclear on the rules. I knew that SWIMming was not allowed but I wasn't entirely sure (at the time) on the general attitude toward abusing pharms. The doses described above were accurate but I am not prescribed any of them. I am sorry for being deceptive but was a bit paranoid at the time :P

1mg of Clonazepam and 15mg of Morphine ER is a tiny, tiny dose.

Yeah, just be straight next time. Well it's your life in game... It's already difficult to answer when people say everything, but it's entirely impossible if they conceal some facts. (You are put into risk because we give you advice based on disinformation)

Yeah my whole first thread was just a fail >.>

Bleh, who cares :)

I've always been open and honest on BL, some of the stuff I've been ashamed of admitting, but the response from BL'ers has been so supportive - and my drug abuse has been so much safer because of this. There is nothing a new poster hasn't done that someone on BL hasn't done already.

Just be open and honest, and we'll do the same! :)

^^same thing here :)
This is the one place we can all be honest, it's made everything a lot safer for me as well. I've even cut back a bit since I'm always reading and keeping a bit busy for once instead of just getting impatient and redoseing over and over again, lol..

I hate cliches, but take your medicine as prescribed. If you can´t sleep, a lack of medication in one night will reflect later, take my word for that.

Opiates affect the thalamus ability to carry on the sleep onset mechanism. If you already have insomnia, opiates are a no no. I assume you don't make it past REM sleep if you toss and turn. In REM you can dream but your brain doesn't rest, and when you wake up you won't feel refreshed.

Did they discard the FFI gene?

You could seek for a "sleep" clinic in order to detect those moments you should really be resting like Ksa mentioned above.
They are pretty good on those details and it´s a nice environment. I think there is more in too this than you may think.

Not that I want to point out another issue with your first thread, but in the future it's best to provide a little insight into your question when choosing a title. People with knowledge on mixing your prescribed medications together would be a lot more likely to click on your thread if it mentioned it in the title rather than just using a generic 'input needed' title. There are tons of threads on here so you want your title to reflect the content since a lot of people don't want to waste their time clicking on a thread that might be asking about something they have never heard about, but if the title indicates that they might be able to help then they would likely check it out.

That's all for my constructive criticism here. I hope you end up finding your answer, and I'll edit the title for you.
