It bears repeating - no drinking for a WHILE after consuming 150 mg butalbital. That dose will leave significant levels of that barbiturate active, in the blood, for quite some time, even if you do not "feel" it. To be cautious, I would wait even more than 24 hours before drinking after consuming the butalbital. It feels much stronger when it comes on - the feeling of the barbiturate drops much more quickly than the active CNS depressant effects of the barbiturate, again even if you do not feel it. Seriously, not a single drink. Barbiturates are incredibly dangerous drugs, on the whole, and drinking is not that safe by itself, either. The combination could EASILY result in death - like scary easily.

Yes. I nearly died. I woke up in a pool of my own vomit, naked, in my shower with the water on 100% cold. My house at the time was 20 blocks from the party that I was drinking the beers at. The last thing I remember was having beer number four or five. I'm lucky to be alive. I also took the 100mg of butalbital around six hours before I had my first drink.

Wow, NT. You really opened up my eyes to the dangers of barbiturates. Sure, I knew they were very dangerous and had a tiny therapeutic window, but I never imagined they could be THAT dangerous at prescribed dosages! This is borderline ridiculous, man. You took it a whole six hours before you even drank, and yet blacked out and survived by sheer luck.

I have to say it (sorry, migraine sufferers): fuck barbiturates! They're phased out for a reason... I'm so glad that the average, experimenting teenager (who knows very little about neuroscience) has Xanax bars and Kpins to experiment with rather than having access to the killer barbiturates.
