Rules for the competition:

Your video must be...

  • Your own film - you (or your group) made it
  • Non-commercial (all submissions will be made freely available under an Attribution-Non Commercial Creative Commons license. For more information see here)
  • Not previously screened (you are going to launch it to the world!)
  • Maximum 5 minutes (although shorter is good)
  • Depicting harm reduction information regarding the use of amphetamine-type stimulants only (amphetamines, ecstasy, cocaine)
  • Not showing any actual illegal activity (DO NOT video any illegal acts! - mock-up substances may be a good idea if you need them!)

This competition is open to Australia residents only, entries accepted until 14th February 2010.

If i had the time and resources i would be all over this. I was going to do something similar for my multimedia major work for my HSC but couldn't locate a decent camera..etc.

If i get some time and some ideas together I'll definitely whip something up, could be fun.

Hopefully some great HR idea's get presented in this competition. Got some ideas, but I have zero resources. Goodluck everyone.

What about showing people on real meth/todays pill comedowns, but not using them on camera. Just a less anti-drug way of saying most of the time people will survive a night on pure ecstasy. But what you have in your pill can range from fake, to impure to dangerous with little chance of pure ecstasy. Always use testing services, whether it be kits or government funded projects. Or you may end up having not just a bad night, but a week of feeling like this.

Bump... I'm told there haven't been many entries so far so if you do enter, you're a good chance! =D

Just a reminder that there's only 3 weeks left to get your harm reduction film in to try and win this competition!

So get cracking, make your video and upload it to the competition website.

Your video does not need to be professional, high definition, have a cracking sound track or be viewable in 3D.

It just needs to depict harm reduction information regarding the use of amphetamine-type stimulants (amphetamines, ecstasy, cocaine).

The competition is open until 28th February 2010.

The winner will be contacted by email and announced on the competition website as well as Bluebelly on 7th March 2010.
For more information about the competition go to http://bluebellyfilmcompetition.ning.com/

This compeition has now closed!

Due to not receiving any entries for this competition, the prize has been cancelled and the session allocated for us at the IHRA Conference in Liverpool has unfortunately been given away.

Many thanks to those who expressed their interest and helped to promote the competition.

Sorry guys, it's alot of time to try to get something worth contributing done =(
And without the correct resources and a crew to help out in person, very tricky task to do. But at some stage I would love to see this competition open up again, I'm looking at trying to increase the HR I can do, but gotta get my uni course out of the way first :P

Two more years =D
