Comparison of pharmaceutical strengths?

Why am I here?

I've been trying to learn the differences between certain pharms, but am still a little confused as to comparitive strength. Can a relative table be applied to relate doses of Oxycontin, MS Contin, and Morphine pills? I assume there might be a general value helpful for recreational use - along the lines of:

80mg Oxycontin = Xvalue MS Contin = Xvalue Morphine

Right, MS contin and Morphine are supposedly the same thing, but again I am lost as to what degree in pill form. Administration is obviously a key variable; let's say orally without time release

Is this possible or simply too subjective? If it is of personal preference, anyone able to generally rate how the highs compare numerically?

Thanks

I might be wrong but arnt Ms-Contins just fast-release Morphines? That only come as 30mg's?

Im probably wrong.

I don't have a clue, but if so an oxy -> morphine comparison is all to give, I guess

have just taken an interest in opiates and am armed only with the (possibly incorrect) knowledge that in strength:

Morphine > Heroin > Opium > Oxycontin > Codeine etc...

Administration confuses it, of course. Sorry if I'm comparing apples and oranges, at least for now I'm just interested in the aforementioned pill forms and how they rate

this is helpful, but I would like to point out this is an analgesic strength converter, and doesn't really qualitatively compare the high.

why am i here: you are quite incorrect.

heroin is much more potent than morphine, and in fact converts into morphine in your body.

going by potency, fentanyl is definately the most potent, but i'm not sure how good the euphoria is (i dont get euphoria from opiates at all)

a lot of it i've noticed comes down to personal choice; some people seem to perfer oxycodone to heroin or hydromorphone for some odd reason. personally i think all the codeine derivatives suck.

i've never tried oxymorphone, but from what i've heard, its THE best opioid, followed by hydromorphone and heroin.

here is a good page to start researching ;)

but to answer your original question, i think oxycodone is 2-3x more potent than morphine, i cant remember for sure.

What the hell... 2x3 times MORE potent than morphine? I thought it was the other way around, and that in general morphine is the cream of accessible opiates

Or is that on a miligram per miligram basis, with pharm morphine generally being in larger doses?
