Compact Fluorescent Bulbs

So. I'm partaking in a single plant growing endevor. And I'm wondering if "soft white" flouroscent blubs will work for veg. They put out 825 lumens and run on 13 watts they are 2700k

Any help would be awesome

If you want to use CFL's you're gonna need the heavier watt ones. Try the 24 or 42w ones.. and you're going to need a few, the 42w put out 2850 lumens. Try looking over on rollitup if you want to do CFL growing (they have a decent section on it).

no you need daylight ones at 6700k. these bulbs are bright and white and kinda blue. those are best for vegging. the yellow ones are around 2700 to 3000k and better for flowering

Can't you use the same for veg/flowering with good results?

no your looking for daylight spectrum CFL's at a 4 to 1 watt ration with the green packaged one that puts off the orange i forgot the exact name for them but daylight, softwhite & then the one im talking about are the only three main chains make.

not worth 73 dollars but i use a 12 dollar 4 pack I bought at walmart and my plants are thriving

It's pretty easy to grow with CFL's, seriously, look on RIU or maybe grasscity. You'd be better off with HPS or MH though.
