It's hard for me to compare invega to abilify, with invega I had an acute dystonic reaction, with abilify I did not. For this reason alone abilify has been far better. If I had to choose between the two I would choose abilify. The anhedonia is not as bad for me personally. I know paranoid android found them equally terrible.

I am constantly trying to distract myself. Something you notice when you heal is things no longer become distractions from your suffering, but activities you actually enjoy. It feels amazing. You feel freed from a cage. The cage of your mind constantly being focused on medication.

Thanks for letting me know someone healed from abilify. Gives me more hope.

@InvegaInferno

Ive read someone's comment, similar to you they have recovered from invega then got injected with Abilify and also healed from that. Although im not sure of the amounts of injections he had; he did mention that Abilify is much better when it comes to recovery compared to invega and he also recovered faster. Do you feel any major difference between the both of them?
I get you I also struggle with patience even more when im left alone with my thoughts, try to surround yourself with others as much as possible or do anything to distract so you don't feel the passage of time its the only way.

Will try brother, surviving as much as I can is the only way I can hold on.
Do you know how long it took them to heal from abilify?

From what I know, a difference between invega and abilify is invega antagonizes D2 receptors permanently, so they have to be fully recycled to recover. This is not the case with abilify, it eventually detatches. This may be a reason recovery from abilify can be faster. Abilify also doesnt fuck up your hormones as much, like the increase of prolactin that comes with invega.

This dystonic reaction is like involuntary movements right? Cause if it is I had something like that too, it was horribly painful with the constant movement, but for me it was not from the injection it was from the risperidone pills they gave me before the shot.

I hope I am healing because I did notice im starting to enjoy gym these past two days but I feel like its too soon to say I have to be sure.

Surprisingly, he said that after day 50 he feels he's close to recovery which made him decide to delete his account, I'm still reading through his messages and bookmarked it to continue later.

Fluck, why didnt I get injected with Abilify instead lol.

A dystonic reaction can be involuntary movements i think. With my reaction, my brain felt like it had been destroyed within 24 hours of the injection that caused it, and my spine hunched over night (kyphosis). Also walked around with my mouth open and arms straight down my sides. It was fucked.

50 days is crazy. Thanks for finding out for me.

It's very good you can get some enjoyment from gym this early on. I honestly enjoyed nothing for the first 6 months after invega.

I hope I recover like my friend did. He had like 15 shots of abilify and was back to normal after 4-5 months. He had erectile dysfunction too.

I could only imagine how your brain felt like but I could relate to what happened with your mouth same thing happened with me, it felt like I was possessed lol so get what you mean a bit.

of course brother we're here to help.

yes I think its a window though lets see.

@InvegaInferno who was it that you mentioned healed from abilify? So I can look at their posts

@starkid 's recovery doesnt sound very encouraging since he said "his brain may never be the same again". And i do not understand why it took him 2 years with just 2 shots. I thought the average time for recovery with 2 injections was 8-12 months, am i mistaken?

Just read a few of his posts and damn this has lifted my mood! Thankyou again @InvegaInferno

If that happened for him it could happen for me. Damn that would be insane. He also took the same time to recover from invega as me (9 months)

A 2 year recovery with only 2 injections? Unless the doses were really high like 250mg each injection, his long recovery could have what reason?
It's possible, it could also be a normal dosage because 10 months is where he did say the improvement was noticeable and most people recover either by 6-12 months maybe the two years is where he felt like himself after the trauma of Invega. But im just speculating.
