Coming off Invega/Xeplion (paliperidone) injections v 12

Well, not that anyone asked but I had sex for the first time in 5 months yesterday, I was able to maintain throughout although there was no mental rush during orgasm BUT the feeling was of peace and calm afterwards so im about 40% healed in that respect as drive is very inconsistent but it’s was a big deal for me so I thought I’d share with y’all who are wondering if you’ll ever get the capability back

I was frustrated with my slow recovery so gagged on Saturday. It's a bad habit that I adopted in February. However when I did it those times it didn't have such a bad affect on my brain. Do you know if my brain can recover from this? AI says it's gone into a freeze mode. I was recovering slowly from my last dose but after gagging it seemed to do something in my brain where I don't have anhedonia like before in that now everything is neutral whereas before there was a lot of negative and some positive. What's going on? Now nothing brings me satisfaction after the Saturday gag whereas before a few things would. Anyone have an idea. It's like my dopamine and serotonin receptors were already sensitive and after gagging it disrupted them and the oxytocin receptors. It feels so isolating cause nobody else knows about the effects of paliperidone and gagging, as it does some kind of neurological damage.
Is it where you induce a short hypoxia / starve from oxygen and it gives you a temporary relief? I used to do that last time I had psychosis, it’s not ideal man but you kinda go do neutral afterwards but eventually it goes away

It's basically where you try to belch as if you're vomiting but nothing comes out. AI says that my brain has gone into a state of freeze and that my oxytocin receptors have been blocked. That's why I'm not even finding satisfaction in speaking to people, because oxytocin is apparently the hormone needed for people to make connections. Also, after I gagged, I couldn't feel music as well as before (it was already affected by invega but got worse after gagging), and am not as satisfied when eating food as before.

It's a bad habit that was formed when I get stressed out. I was stressing out about my slow invega recovery and I did it. It made matters worse for me. Hopefully my brain will recover. It also caused extra insomnia and prevented my dreams from being as vivid.

Hell man thats rough, im more than familiar with the neutral feeling though but thats from the shots (it’s what im left with now but I also had it from repeated short term self induced hypoxia last time) hopefully it’s not for long dude, it’s strange it’s effected how music and food interact with you im sorry to hear it mate :(

Yeah the neutral feeling is when before the gagging I new what I disliked and had apathy because of invega but there were still little things I found pleasure in, like the cloud formation in the sky or the wind blowing on my chest. Now nothing brings me pleasure, and I don't know what I don't dislike, and don't have apathy, but everything is just grey and ordinary.

Even coming on this site and the Facebook one brought me some degree of satisfaction before I gagged on Saturday, but now, because of the oxytocin being depleted, it doesn't give me any drive or buzz if you know what I mean. Speaking to people brought me some satisfaction too before this gagging episode but now it doesn't change how I feel whatsoever.

That's rough, man. Sorry you're struggling with this. I hope you're able to find some relief and pleasure again, I admit this is my first time hearing of gagging and I don't know much about it, but hopefully the effects you're having are not very longlasting.

Yeah I gagged in February, March and May but because I had less doses of invega it didn't impact me as much. When it's coupled with multiple doses of invega it's like torment. I no longer have the word 'like' in my vocabulary. I hope I find some relief too, cause I can't imagine 60 more years of this...

8 months off. Will keep drinking coffee for sure, hopefully all the pleasure I had associated with that comes back!
It's possible it can come back, I lost the ability to feel caffeine and it returned eventually. It was so bad no matter how strong I made a coffee I would feel nothing or almost nothing.

How’re you getting on man? Must be coming up a year since your second lot of Injections
I doing okay mate thanks for asking! I still have some issues caused by the 9 abilify injections, my last injection was about 11 months ago I think.

I still have muscle weakness, bad general/working memory, some genital numbness, sometimes I struggle to pronounce certain words and speak clearly. I forget what I am saying or want to say mid sentence often too. Defo have a few screws loose in my brain.

But over all I still believe I can improve, and I am doing so much better than I was a year ago. I am no longer totally miserable. No longer restless, I have interest in things again and can feel enjoyment and feelings of relaxation.

On abilify I would literally pace all night on my own staring at bluelight, not knowing when I would get off the shots. Absolutely fucked.

I am grateful that's over now.

Your brain doesn't feel blocked anymore?
I'm 1 year and 4 days i feel still 50-60 precent of my brain is lobotomized

That's great to hear, I tried searching for info on this and all that came up were horror stories from people who lost it for years or forever. Hopefully that's rare and we're more likely to regain that ability.

It's the exact same for me at the moment after 4 months; coffee just goes down like water and doesn't get me buzzed at all. Combined with the insomnia it's like it just makes no difference whether I drink it or not.

I'm doing fine, mostly. Friends still haven't started talking to me again yet, but I think they will eventually when they somehow see that I have gotten a better job and I'm stable.

I am going to try to quit smoking weed, I just ordered and ounce of CBD flower. Wish me luck on having no psychosis from quitting THC.

Wishing you luck ! Personally I love CBD flower and will be getting my hands on some when I get a chance. I hope everything agrees with you and you don't have any issues with positive symptoms. And fingers crossed your friends start talking to you again, I know that pain of isolation all too well. Wishing you the best of luck with everything :)
