Scientists in Israel say they have observed exactly how the brain can make the body sick — and believe tweaks in the behavior of gray matter could stop inflammation in the bowel, colon and elsewhere.

Researchers at at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology activated certain combinations of neurons in healthy mice, who had no physical problems at all, and watched inflammation suddenly appear. This illustrates the power of the brain to initiate physical illness and shows how it happens, they say.

The experiment, which involved dozens of mice, suggested that at least some psychosomatic illness is caused by the brain “replaying” an episode of physically induced illness to the body.

I would ask if invega makes you feel that your dead alive? I feel dead everyday that I can’t make it without someone telling me I’m dead alive. I can’t even move my body and I’m so weak. Please answer me if you have this happening. Is it normal on invega

How long have you been suffering from this? I remember seeing you in the old threads

That’s what freaks me out. The sheer number of people still fucked up years later. It’s ridiculous

lol met with my nurse today... they thought i was fucking mentally ill and absolutely retarded
first they do a lobotomy and as a result are suprised someone communicates that way
its the world upside down
No one in the medical field has any idea that shit does this to people. No one that hasn’t had it understands in the slightest

he can smoke weed so he''s fine ... as long you can smoke weed or somewhat enjoy computer games it gets really easy
If I could smoked some weed I would, but I moved to a new area and I dont have a connect. But I can really get into movies and enjoy games

How many people in this thread have signed so-called Ulysses contracts permitting "voluntary" involuntary treatment with long-acting antipsychotic drugs like Invega Sustina (I.V.) ... often as a condition of stopping such medications:

"...a signed agreement is made between the person wanting to reduce their antipsychotic medication and a trusted friend or caregiver involved or guiding them through treatment. In the voluntary agreement, it is stipulated that if the person suddenly decides to just stop the medication suddenly, or take an unplanned vacation from supervised treatment, that they understand that the police or hospitalization may have to become involved." (From website: Alternative to meds linked below)

For those who are under the age of consent how many of you were asked and agreed to sign agreements that allow parents or those who have custody of you to give their approval for involuntary administration of I.V. , maybe in exchange for permitting behavior such as cigarette smoking, medical cannabis and so on? Also for young people were any of you coerced to do same aftet you were either discovered by your parents or guardians of using illegal drugs such as meth or arrested? Was it a condition of avoiding serving time in jail or juvenile detention centers?

Please PM me if you feel more comfortable.

I'm absolutely devastated reading through this lilitany of horror stories from young people...

Almost as surprising is the almost religious conviction in the synthetic offerings of Western Industrialized medicine, "if ONLY I could take/be switched to ________< (insert latest antipsychotic, antidepressant, or hybrid psychotropic drug name here) this nightmare would finally end."

With respect to Invega a drug that was insufficiently tested and prematurely approved & marketed/ promoted for off-label uses and has a dubious track record how has that NOT created in you skepticism, a healthy skepticism, but skepticism none the less?

(Who the hell am I?)
After years of poly drug abuse and an attempted self-taper from Methadone and stimulants and tranquilizers I was deemed 5150/ 5250 danger to self or others and spent the next 3 weeks in a major university hospital where teams of students would come in and watch me as one of my two psychiatrists asked me questions and I muttered one-word answers).

Upon being discharged I had a bad reaction to Zyprexa (olanzapine) which like many of these drugs either has a class action lawsuit slowly moving through the courts involving dozens up to hundreds of plaintiffs seeking compensation for injuries or fatalities. I only found out about it after I had stopped taking all of it and chose not to join "the class" as they call it. I was intending 12-step meetings almost daily and was taking nothing more than aspirin and acetaminophen. Plus I was praying everyday upon awakening. I would get out of bed and on my knees, often with tears in my eyes, say the Lord's Prayer with the sort of gratitude that infused it with a special poignancy of someone who didn't much need God in the past. I was one of the lucky ones....

Within two or three weeks of taking olanzapine I was suffering severe side effects that made it impossible to care for myself, that included severe motor impairment, inability to walk straight, loss of balance, continuous drooling, assuming bizarre statue-like postures (a form of catatonia), and more. Gratefully I was taken right back to the hospital that discharged me after three weeks of drug detoxification and sent me home (to sober living) with the new bagfull of new drugs.

I was immediately given an infusion of diphenhydramine in order to withdraw Zyprexa immediately and all the others. Diphenhydramine has shown promise in helping with rapid removal of antipsychotic drugs. It's also called Benadryl.

Here's a website of a organization that has a blog and or chapter on almost every modern psychiatric drug. Please read it and respond here or feel free to PM me.

An extensive review of the medical literature on antipsychotic withdrawals was analyzed by Brandt et al in their study published in Sept 2020 in the Frontiers in Psychiatry Journal. The authors reported that fast or abrupt antipsychotic withdrawal by far produces more intense withdrawals, and that slow reductions produce less severe reactions as a general rule. Of note, women and older populations suffered greater intensity of withdrawal phenomena in some of the trials analyzed. The list of withdrawal symptoms below is drawn from this study,14, and several other sources as indicated, though this may not be a complete list.

Invega Withdrawal Symptoms Include:

  • Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, tremors, shakiness.9
  • Headache, myalgia, numbness, vertigo, diaphoresis, restlessness, tension, insomnia, nightmares, hyperkinesia, dry mucous membranes, tachycardia, anxiety, bad taste, rhinorrhea (runny nose) 14
  • Akathisia 13
  • Depression, mania, psychosis, hallucinations, or other returning or rebound symptoms which can be more severe than before starting medication.15,16
*Akathisia is receiving attention and new research since it is a common side effect of withdrawal from several types of psychiatric medications, including antipsychotics.13

Prescribers generally have minimal exposure to Invega withdrawal — it just isn’t their scope. Invega is an antipsychotic that is utilized during a time of crisis. Long-term ramifications and side effects of Invega shouldn’t be discounted.

Unskilled withdrawal from Invega, after the dopamine receptors have upregulated, can put a person right back into crisis. The supervision must be handled with extreme care.
Do Your Symptoms Require Invega?

What Invega Is Used For

Invega (paliperidone) and Invega Sustenna are FDA approved to be used in the treatment of schizophrenia in adolescents and adults. (see cautions below) Other uses include as an adjunct medication to antidepressants and mood stabilizers. These approvals were granted after a small number of very short clinical trials lasting 6 weeks.1

CAUTIONS
1.
There is a warning on the FDA label that indicates the drug causes increased mortality in elderly patients with dementia-related symptoms of psychosis.
2. Use in the third trimester of pregnancy and while breastfeeding is associated with neonatal withdrawals and movement disorders in the infant. Human trials have not established safety with regard to birth defects.
3. Safety has not been established for the treatment of persons below the age of 18 for schizoaffective disorders or in patients age 12 or younger in the treatment of schizophrenia.
4. Long-term treatment with antipsychotic medications may see decreasing efficacy, along with some undesirable health consequences, as reported in the Official World Journal of Psychiatry in 2018.17
