I find it hard to study after the injections.
Before, I could understand because my mind would use creativity and imagination in order to grasp new concepts of understanding.
Now my mind is mostly blank so it makes it hard to digest new material, for example learning how to code is now harder.

This is so frustrating, I wonder if @Kaatrina used to suffer from the same thing, and did she recover from this. 🤔
Yes I did, I was studying for a comic and trying to study math for testing for beginning college, and concentrating on the smallest thing was very hard, I could find no interest in learning, and even when I forced myself a ten minute math video would seem an hour and a half long. Studying was pretty much impossible, I couldn't memorize lists or anything. I felt like a true idiot. I was placed in idiot math but I did go back to school in fall 2019 when I was around 9 months off invega. At nine months off invega I could study and I got As, which was something I didn't think possible after invega. I enjoyed my classes until Covid hit and I did get my paralegal degree in spring 2021.

Does that mean that antipsychotics were doing nothing for my bipolar depression? Or making it worse (that’s what it felt like)? Or am I misunderstanding?
Yeah most likely if you have bipolar depression anti psychotics usually make it worse cause they block serotonin and dopamine. People have reported lsd and shrooms helping bipolar depression but I wouldn’t recommend taking it if you’re feeling manic or if you’re on meds that would interact with it.

It usually takes the negative symptoms (apathy, melancholia, blank affect, socializing) a lot longer than the positive symptoms (hallucinations, delusions) to remit with antipsychotics. Heard it can take several months. Just wanted to add.
thanks for the info. What are the negative symptoms of socialising? I’ve had trouble conversations with people for a while and feel confused and weird about it. Do anti psychotics help with negative symptoms your saying?

So now, obtaining new knowledge and learning overall is a fun and enjoyable activity again for you? Do you feel the joy of studying?

I had 3 shots ...and still feel not like used to...and now tapering benzo having withdrawal issues ...cherry on the cake naa mean...17 and half months off btw

But dont worry ...in 2020 i had one shot and fully recovered but unfortunately i relapsed...:/

While I agree that simply imprisoning someone in mental crisis is wrong, assuming a person experiencing a psychotic episode will just sit back and voluntarily check into a hospital or even just pop a pill is also kind of a far-fetched idea.

I know when I was deep in psychosis, I didn't think any of my thinking was out of place because what I was thinking was my reality or at least my perception of reality. Since I didn't know or think I was psychotic, why would I take meds? Why would I even go to see a psychiatrist or check in to inpatient treatment? Do you catch what I'm saying?

Like @deficiT said, sometimes an intervention of some sort is necessary to persuade an individual that no, they are not being followed by CIA or that cameras and microphones are installed all over the place. But when you thinks it's real, voluntary is sometimes a tall order. Like I said, outright imprisonment is wrong but sometimes creative solutions are needed that don't involve imprisonment of course.

Ya this is where i think outpatient medical help is needed. With alot of these cases of psychosis and i know with mine some high dose benzos and antipsychotics could sort it out. It's not rocket science

Do you have a plan not to get injected again?
Yeah the best case scenario is ..talking wth ur relatives ..tell them threat me to putting in hospital if i insist not to take medicine...like abilify or sth and if you keep taking it like 1 week u will be out of psychosis...

if I ever end up back in psychosis again I’ll probably take seroquel or latuda pills but it’s unlikely I’ll end up in psychosis again since what I had was drug induced + no sleep for 5 days and my family has no history of psychosis. What does your psychosis stem from?

Will I ever heal and be able to get high on weed again?
Yes you will I couldn’t feel substances in the first month off the shot but now I can although I don’t take substances often so I have a low tolerance I’m 4 months off, you keep asking that same question though if you can’t get high anyway I’d suggest taking a t break and maybe finding a new hobby there’s more to life then getting high.

Good question.
I signed a medical directive stating no long term injections.
Also asked my parents to get guardianship of me so they can advice the doctors, and I also asked the judge to sign a letter stating no long term injections.
I usually relapse at the 12 month mark and am now 9 months off,
So hopefully I’m covered, but I’ll keep you guys posted!

Thx! I’m not manic, but I am extremely anxious, and obsess about losing my mind again, so I don’t think psychedelics would be a good idea for me. LSD use is what caused me to go manic for the first time when I was first diagnosed.

4 months off invega and it feels like I’m getting worse anybody experience this? I felt like at 3.5 months I was more recovered then I am now maybe it’s withdrawal or more paliparadone being released in my system.

It’s impossible for “more” Invega Sustenna to be released in your system as time goes by I don’t know why people keep saying this. Invega Sustenna is in your blood stream and in your blood levels. That’s what my doctor explained to me, that’s why they give you the two loading doses in the beginning to get enough in your blood stream to alter your brain. I just talked to a guy on Reddit who is two years and four months off Invega Sustenna and not on any other drugs and hasn’t recovered his sexual dysfunction or anything yet (he’s not on any other antipsychotics)
