Just looking for support and advice. I've been on a binge for the last two and a half or three months using large amounts of heroin and fentanyl daily. And I always had access to suboxone so on the days I couldn't score I'd just shoot some subs.

I haven't gone this long without even a day off in years and I'm scared. I've cold turkeyed a bunch of times but for some reason I feel like this one is gonna be a really bad deto . I'm completely broke and I have work and school 4 days a week that I have to go to. I have like around 7-8mgs of suboxone I saved so I guess I can do a short taper but I have no plan. I just went two days without and then managed to get a couple bucks and get a fentanyl pill. Any ideas on a suboxone taper plan that would keep me healthy enough to get thru work and school? Thanks.

I can't offer advice on the suboxone taper but I am wondering what kind of support you have for the emotional side of all this. What is your goal? To quit completely? If so you are going to need both immediate and long term support for dealing with wd's and PAWS as well as what led you to this place initially.

Absolutely the goal is to quit completely. This isn't my first attempt and although i posted this a month ago my circumstances are the same, except now i have approximately 40mg of subs to taper with..
I have a pretty decent support system; you see i am on parole for a drug dealing charge. I live in a government halfway house and am monitored very closely and do urinalysis tests randomly, (so far have passed them all thanks to a lot of luck and an incredibly fast metabolism). I see a therapist that i have a close relationship with once a week, i go to a weekly support group similar to NA with a good group of people and go to NA as well, however currently i do all this while usin .
My priority now though is getting clean physically, like i said ive been binging on good heroin and fentanyl for months and i cant afford to take a week off from everything (am in university and a part time job at a coffee shop) so i need to do a slow or fast taper with my bupe so im well enough to keep up with work, school and so that my PO, family etc cant tell im sick.
I know theres no easy way to do this, i guess im just looking for support, maybe advice with a bupe taper with around 40mg slow enough that im not too sick?
I find 3-5 mg of suboxone does me good if i wait until im in full w/ds. And i figure if i stabilize at 5 and slowly go down in dose and time between doses thats my best bet.

bump.

I would start lower than 5mg. Maybe try 2mg and take another 2mg in an hour if you need them. Sub is very strong, and it is also a bitch to kick. The lower the induction dose, the faster the taper, the better for your withdrawal.

Just posted this in another thread but it works for you too. Maybe do a very short Suboxone taper (remember that subxones long half life even after you stop taking it, will be in your system, helping you for days) but no matter what do this:

Gabapentin, immodium, and exercise! I can't say that enough. Gabapentin and immodium are lifesavers for me. I'd say 300mg 3x a day gabapentin and immodium 8-20mg 2-4x a day. Seriously, it will make a world of difference. And unlike benzos (which is, believe it or not, a harder habit to kick than methadone) they aren't as addictive. I wouldn't ever ever ever take benzos for more than two weeks daily. Immodium is non prescription and legal, and incredibly cheap. Gabapentin is usually cheap too, and usually free with insurance, though it is prescription only, it is very easy to get as it isnt really recreational.

Exercise (weight training and cardio) and take multivitamins and omega supplements. Force yourself to eat, and eat healthy. No matter how hard it is, you need to do it.

I promise if you stick to this post like the bible you will feel way, way better within a couple days, and will feel like a new person within a week or two. This is a tried and true method that has saved me many hardcore withdrawals, I have been doing heroin and methadone for 6 years now, and every friend I taught this method thanked me for it endlessly.

Stay strong. Stay away from benzos and any opiates. Taper off the immodium when you feel able, same with thr gabapentin. Stay away from all stimulants, caffeine nicotine etc.
