Hi everyone! (This is my 1st post). I was basically introduced to tiz for comedowns a couple of months back as it was the only thing that meant i could get any sleep. Then matters got a bit out of hand. This is how things progressed up until now:

Week 1: i started popping them recreationally, probably 2 a night with a cider or so to make me a bit wobbly / happy and relaxed enough to sleep.

Week 2: This was probably upped to about 4mg per evening.

Week 3: I then went on holiday for a week, benzo free, and because I hadn't researched the poswsible WDs of benzos, didnt really notice many negative effects. However I was craving them when I was away.

Week 4: bought some more as soon as i got back, and upped the dose to about 6mg an evening/night with a cider or 2.

Week 5: This continued on at this rate (oscassionally even upped to 8mg a night) until 2 days ago when i lost a pack that i thought i had. It was 3pm, I had been up for only like an hour or two and just smoke a joint. Went to open my pack for the day and IT WASNT THERE!. Searched high and low but couldnt find jack. Went into the two head shops in town where i normally buy em from and they had both sold out. I had a persistent headache, felt really dpressed and drowsy all day. Tried to sleep that night but couldnt, so took some of my mums perscribed zolpiclone, although i felt nothing until i had taken 4(15mg) which is twice the maximum doasage of 7.5mg. Anyway the next day was yesterday and i had the same symptomns, went to the headshops around lunchtime and still nothing, so i got some diclazepam instead. took 2 at 4pm and didnt feel much, another at 7pm, one at 11pm with half a bottle of wine, started to feel it now, but stayed up for another hour. Lay down but didnt fall asleep instantly like has been the case recently with tiz, so i took another and stayed awake for another 30 mins then i fell asleep. Slept for 13 hours straight and was still hell getting up. Can feel the headache and depression slowly kicking back in though. This is my situation now.

Basically I had no idea how serious tiz addiction could be. Im hoping to have avoided any form of dependancy, although the symptomns i had when i didnt have them would have me think otherwise. The main question is, would tiz dependancy and diclazerpam dependancy be linked? cos i still had the headache / depression from lack of tiz whilst under the influence of diclazepam, just not so severly. So basically, is it a possibility that i can get by for a few days on diclaze/ weed and wait for the tiz WDs (which do seem to be getting slowly better) to go away, or is taking the diclaze going to top-up my dependancy on tiz because its a related benzo??? Sorry for long post. hope someone reads and helps me out!!!

Tapering off of the diclazepam would likely be more comfortable than coming off of etizolam due to its longer half life. Since you only took etiz for 5 weeks you could probably pull off a relatively quick(but not too quick) taper. You should look into the Ashton Manual, it suggests switching to valium when one is discontinuing the use of a shorter acting benzo.
