Hi all

Has *ANYONE* managed to get off Clozapine (without substituting it for another anti-psychotic). I've been on it for about 10 years now and have tried to withdrawal about 6 times without success. I'm currently on 375mg daily, lowish dose, but every time i get to about 200mg i start to get violently moody and it becomes unbareable.

Anyone??

Cheers

Well Ive never been on it as it is just about the last anti-psychotic they prescribe you hear in Canada after every atypical and a good amount of typicals have failed. But if you are on clozapine in the first place i am going to assume it's not a case of your doctor just slapping you on it for no good reason. What are you diagnosed with may i ask?

I think technically it is Schizo-Affective disorder but it has been described as psychosis and schizophrenia. However for a long time i've been symptom free (now that i got my drug use under control). Funnily enough Meth is the ONLY drug that has every truly cured EVERYTHING for me (temporarily). Anyway my psych is more than happy for me to ween off it, but it is REAL slow and frustrating. WHen he get down to 200mg i start to get VIOLENTLY moody for no reason, it is really aweful for both myself and whoever is around me that cops it :( Can anyone help?
