I hear many people worry about going onto lofexadine from 25 ml. My experience was dropping 5 ml methadone every 2 wks from 90 to 25 ml.
It was a lot worse dropping from 30 to 25 mls, than the actual jump from 25ml straight onto lofexadine.
I am currently on day 11 without methadone and feel mostly fine appart from the odd slight withdrawals.
They are not for everyone as your blood pressure may drop very low and you feel very groggy. But much better than a full blown rattle. I've been on methadone continuously for 26 yrs and feel great at the moment.
They are well worth a try.
I heard many horror story's and got told not to jump off at 25 ml but why drag it out. I found the reducing worse.
Any how ive got one tab left to go and I don't feel I need it so far. The worst bits gonna be lack of sleep. But hey life seems great at the moment. Stay positive, its worth it.

Hi,
Welcome to BL!

Congrats on day 11 without methadone. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance with the site!
I've heard horror stories too. Good to hear you're doing ok. I used Clonidine personally, and felt very groggy in the morning - but it beat not having it at all. I hope the Lofexadine continues to help.

Best,
Smoky :)

Hi Smoky, yeah I've finished my 12 day course yesterday, makes you feel groggy, but you get too sleep a lot still. Much better than a bare rattle. Worked really well for me. Day 13 and only sweaty chills and no sleep now, but not too much too complain about after 25 yrs sweating on the method and gear.
Its well worth ago, but everyone is different and a few don't do well, but most smash it. I did a community detox at home as I have my daughter on my own.
All the best to you Smoky.

Hi Smokey, hello Captain. Heroin.
On day 14 and off britlofex (Lofexedine) since Saturday morning. They worked well but now course finished, got a new wave of wd,'s. Got told by my detox worker to expect them for another couple of weeks. They're tolerable when you keep very busy, but sleep is a right off now. Hopefully over worst but it seems two months not weeks. No going back now though I wasted about 25 yrs of my life on the green shit. Glad not to have the liquid tag on anymore. Can't expect to get away with it in two wks after so long.
Starting a twelve month DEAP programme next WK at my local drug team. See what shit they gonna throw my way. Bring it on, if its gonna help keep me clean now. Used diazipam twice in last week, but don't want to get back into them either after a 12 yrs addiction which I finished last December.
Anyhow, see how things go.

Great idea not using diazepam. I used a little first week, but I see so many switch over to it … then have to do another taper down the road. And benzos aren't no walk in the park. Oy!
Just think you'll look back one day on this experience and will be so grateful. At least I know I am. I almost caved a few times but hung in there, and am here today, living life again without opiates.

Please let us know how the program goes. I've done 2 programs before. There are lots of OTC remedies that might help too if you are interested.

You do have this… keep up the work. Congrats on your journey thus far, it's not easy but does get better. Awesome!

:)

Thanks Smoky, yeah on day 20 off methadone now. Withdrawals still coming and going, lack of sleep the worst bit. If you know some help full over counter meds that would be great.
Never done a meth. rattle in all years on it. I know everyone's different but I am wondering how long the agitation and cold flushes usually go on for. Pissed through and cold all the time. Anyhow on the positive side 20 days, a record for me by 20 days.

Absolutely!

Since methadone is a longer withdrawal I wouldn't suggest lope or cough medicine if your this far out. Congrats btw on 20 days!
But indeed pick up some L Glutamine (below). Doesn't work for everyone but I found it helpful. Glutamate plays an integral role in opiate addiction. I would google it and you'll see why and how it can help.

Also, this:

1) L-Tyrosine (500 MG caps)
2) L-Glutamine (500 MG caps)
3) L-Lysine (500 MG caps)
4) Zinc (50-mg pills)
5) Magnesium (250 mg pills)
6) Omega-3 Fish oil caps (I used Omegaberry-they are extra filtered so u don't burp up fish taste)
7)Super b complex vitamins
8) Melatonin pills (Miracle sleep aid!!-No Joke)
9) Ammodium (Generic) pills
10) Lots of Gatoraid, lots of fluids. Coconut water.
* Bananas too!

I heard about 35 days you'll start feeling a little better especially the physical sx. That is standard with subs anyways, of course everyone is different. Meth might be a little longer, but it does get better day by day… Hang in there!

Best of luck,
Smoky :)

Thanks Smoky, really appreciated the list. Am still counting the days, 25 now, and have purchased most of the vits etc and my daughter had left over melatonin pills so I've started on them too.
Seem to be on another wave of WDs again but more tolerable now. More cold sweats and headaches, with down moods too. I know my body and mind are still adjusting so not too worried. Feel really run down now so the extra supplements should really help.
Thank you for your support smoky, I'll keep you updated...
