Harm Reduction Combos?

Hi everyone!

I recently received a variety of medications from my doctors to help reduce my oxycodone use. These medications include hydroxyzine, diphenhydramine, clonidine, Adderall IR, hydrocodone, diazepam, clonazepam, baclofen, eszopiclone, zolpidem, gabapentin, melatonin, and a few other medications and supplements.

This is all in preparation for a detox program (Iboga/Ibogaine) I will begin at the end of August. Ideally, I am trying to keep my dosing to a minimum. Since I don't currently have a benzodiazepine dependency, my doctors suggested that I might overcompensate with opiates to keep my benzodiazepine use low. This is important because benzodiazepines will also be part of my detox plan.

My question is: are there any combinations of these medications that might help potentiate the effects of the opiates, allowing me to take less, or help keep me calm throughout the day? The main issue I am encountering is that my opiate tolerance is increasing by about 10% daily.

Additionally, I want to avoid any obviously dangerous interactions and the risk of serotonin syndrome, which I recently learned about. Any advice or experiences are welcome. I would really appreciate all the help I can get.

Thank you!

Ps: Ibogaine does not work with benzodiazepines, so since I don’t have a dependency right now, I would like to avoid developing one prior to my Detox.

Jesus thats alot of meds. Why adderall for opiate wd's? Amphetamines make opiate wd worse that makes no sense. Also why eszopiclone and zolpidem together? That makes no sense you only need one or the other. And you do know that hydro is a opiate right? Are you using that to taper?

Personally out of those meds i would take the hydroxyzine, Valium, eszopiclone and gabapentin

Morning bud. Hope all is well.

So the intended end result is to detox with the Ibogaine. If you just want to use those meds until said date then I would advise just to keep

Hydro
Diazepam
Zolpidem
Gabapentin
And maybe one anti histamine.

For detoxing, ideally you should not do any drugs whatsoever. But if that is too difficult or out of the picture, and you are going for something to keep you calm, here's a few good options:

Hydrocodone

Gabapentin

Zolpidem

Maybe Hydroxyzine if you get bad Opitch.

Good luck and stay safe.

They were all prescribed to me at some point over the last few months as meds to help 1. Reduce the amount of oxy needed daily/prevent me from using more and 2. Eszopiclone and zolpidem definitely were not prescribed to take together. Yes I know hydrocodone is an opiate (a less potent one). Yes I was going to use it to taper or to reduce/prevent me from going to something stronger.

sounds good!

Thanks for all the help friends. Wishing everybody love and light.

What is your current oxycodone dosage?

Honestly, I don't know your background but this sounds like a recipe for getting addicted to multiple other substances.

I am currently on 60-90mg every 4-6 hrs. I have 12+ years of experience with all different types of substances and have been addicted, dependant, and poly dependant on almost everything at some point. Even booze. I’m trying to reserve my diazepam usage as much as possible until I go to my detox since benzos will come in handy then and I want to avoid building a tolerance or dependency prior to the detox.

How much gabapentin daily do you suggest?

In the case when getting off any substances is

1. Use a little as possible comfort meds

2. Keep dosages at there lowest

3. Have game plane with the meds and what tou will be doing in between.

And please just don't swap out one for another. Lol

But you got this. I know. And here. And dunny enough diet and exercise helps a lot
A do that shit to keep my druggy ass still look semi young lol

Hydroxyzine I believe is an antihistamine

Anybody have anything else for me? My girlfriend went off on me last night feeling a little lonely and sick so down pretty bad

I'm really concerned that you, someone with a history of addiction has all of these drugs at your fingertips. I make no moral judgements against addicts. I am an addict myself. I only try to speak objectively so my points are as clear as possible. I understand that Ibogaine is "the plan", but I am worried about the possibility of finding all of these drugs just a little too much fun to stop.

You say your tolerance is increasing by 10% daily? You need to stop increasing the dosage immediately. I promise you, as someone who knows, that nothing that you want will come from increasing the dosage of your Opioids. This is only what you think will happen. Your body and mind are telling you that this is what happened previously, so this must be the future solution also. The reality is that continually increasing the dosage will lead to increasingly diminished results.

I would seriously freeze your intake immediately while you take stock of what to do next. Get off of that train man. You have some drugs available that could really help you do this if you can use them responsibly.

The truth is that I feel it is highly unlikely that an addict (myself included) could control their intake of these various drugs in any way that could be objectively positive for them. It's a nice idea, but it's just not how it works in practice. If your tolerance is increasing by 10% daily, then you are admittedly not in control of your usage. You are writing this thread, I believe, because you know you're out of control. I do not think it is a good thing for you to have all of these drugs available.

In an objective sense, yes, these drugs could be used to help you mitigate your Opioid usage. I feel this is all a little too haphazard and chaotic to actually make a plan though.

well im off of the opiates but borderline depandant on kratom 4-8gs daily as well as a very low dose of diazepam or clonazepam depending on how high my heartrate gets as well as gabapentin at night for restless legs and arms due to melatonin, progesterone, cannabis combo not working/making me more restless so i alsmost always end up taking lunesta or ambien a few hrs later which then i feel i should have just done in the first place. i ideally dont want to be on any meds but the people at the ibogaine clinic put me on so many things for two weeks that i feel i have not only a minor dependancy to opiates still or at least a tolorence but for sure a minor one to benzos and or gabapentin and sleeping meds kind of have to chose between the benzos or gaba and z meds.. any advice for me? i really dont want to have already but especially continue to get my body physically depandant to the point of no returen so obviously sooner the better for everyting but i also need sleep to function and im pissed i traded all of these for just OC... that was not the plan.
