Combining Salvia with a dissociative.

I have heard that combining Salvia with a dissociative "takes the edge off" and helps with the fear and unpleasant body sensations.

Any thoughts on this?

I would probably want to go with Nitrous since Ketamine is a pretty strong psychedelic of its own. But what would be the optimal logistics plan? Smoke the Salvia first, then take in some Nitrous?

Surely then you'd be in salvia-land before you got to the nos?

A low dose of ket sounds like a better idea to me.

Nitrous doesn't make much sense if you ask me. Nitrous last a shorter amount of time than salvia. You'll be pretty intoxicated from the nitrous and feeling the rush while you are trying to hit the salvia. Go with a low dose of ketamine. I find dissociatives take away my anxiety and a low dose is of k is perfect for that imo.

I don't see how combining Salvia with a dissociative would '"take the edge off" and help with the fear and unpleasant body sensations."

I suggest you take a therapeutic (not recreational) dose of benzos or something similar to help with the fear and perhaps somewhat the unpleasant bodily sensations.

I found that magnesium citrate always helps with stomach discomfort and body load on my 2c, and tryptamine trips (lol) so you may want to investigate that as well...

^In theory it works because dissociatives block sensory signals, thereby mitigating bodily sensations. Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic after all.

I'm the one who posted about this in the Salvia Is It Worth It thread. The following is from the second page of the B&D salvia thread:

I've only done it a few times, but using salvia in combination with a dissociative is an immense hedonic improvement over salvia alone. Many others share this opinion. No hotness, no salvia monsters digging their claws into my skin, and, most importantly, no getting up and walking around. A dissociative also largely takes away the pre-trip anxiety and allows you to go through the experience in a more third-person, neutral kind of way that's not nearly so confusing or disconcerting.

That's a great tip, psood0nym... A low dose of DXM is great for the deterrifyingization of a salvia trip - the Fear is wholly absent, the regret neutralized (if not transformed into enthusiasm), the trip lengthened+intensified and the body load wholly eliminated. I'd definitely use less salvia than usual for the first go around.

I'd imagine ketamine is great as well, though I personally cannot vouch for it. I'll give it a try later this week if I get around to it.

The "many others" who recommend the combo I refer to in the first quote have posts that are more difficult to search for unfortunately. But as I recall they mostly say the same thing about taking away a lot of the fear and toning down the skin tingles and other unpleasant body sensations so one can focus on the visionary aspects of the trip.

Edit: A second plateau DXM dose or low dose ketamine is probably best. Since salvia doesn't cause tolerance you can just start low and repeatedly keep adding more until you're where you want to be with the combo.

For me, a salvia and nitrous trip is just lost in a big black hole. No colors, no sensations. Knockout gas! :D

When i wake up after i dont even have any memories of even having taken the drugs for a few minutes. Memory gets "a bit" scrambled, i once were sure my friend who had left 30 minutes earlier, where still in the room with me and trying to get my attention. I even started looking for him in my apartment, then i saw the nitrous cannister and realized what i was doing, man, those kind of mindfuck moments are hilarious.

Usually, I lie down on the floor and smoke the salvia, exhale deeply, get the feeling of spinning in a huge wheel aaaaandd then inhale the nitrous gas.

The first time I did salvia, it was during a nitrous session. I'd probably hit four or five whippets before smoking the salvia, but it ended up awful nonetheless. I think I smoked too much of the salvia (about .75g of the 20x stuff in one hit), it was the most difficult time I've had with salvia and none of my future salvia attempts were anywhere close to this combination.

I remember loading the bowl, hitting another whippet, then I remember lighting the bowl and that's when all hell broke lose. I don't remember inhaling the smoke or blowing it out, I was just instantly 'sucked' into my monitor, chopped up and torn apart by huge gears, then launched out of the monitor hitting the floor like melted cheese. I remember 'pulling' myself up from the ground while hearing some sick circus/carnival-like music playing to a marching beat, I remember seeing a really big wheel turning that very closely resembled the Wheel of Fortune wheel, then some kind of huge grocery-store sign was 'pulled across my face'. I also remember a very physically painful situation that involved being pulled through a never ending row of turnstiles. I somehow managed to run outside, then this ordeal started dissipating.

I'm not exactly sure how the nitrous played part in this deal, but I'd like to say that it somewhat potentiated the experience. It was certainly an eye-opening event, but the physical pain and distress that I felt during it made it not something I wanted to immediately try again. I'm not sure how 'real' the pains were, but at the time, they sure did seem very real. Surely the nitrous did not 'take the edge off' of the salvia experience, but it definitely made it more vivid and sick than the other times I've done salvia. I'd say be careful and expect the worst likely event to occur.

In my experience, mdma goes great with salvia. It negates the negative aspects of the salvia experience and when Im on mdma I love extreme sensations.

The only dissociative I've used in conjuction with salvia has been dxm but that was a few years ago and I barely remember how it went. It seems like nitrous+salvia would be VERY intense, much moreso than salvia by itself which can almost be too intense for me sometimes.

I've always wanted to rip some salvia while peaking on DXM, but I haven't got to it yet.

I think it will be pretty amazing/intense/insane
