coke, strength or purity

something someone said to me got me thinking about the strength of coke rather than the purity.
When people post about coke not doing any thing or being shit it's put down to purity. And its suggested that its most likely cut with something lowering its purity. But what I was thinking was is there an issue of strength involved where it may be that the coke isn't cut or is cut slightly but the strength of it is just low? Like with weed, you get real shit as chronic but you can still get crap weed but it's still weed and pure.
 
Purity = strength with this substance. There are 400-some-odd chemicals in MJ, and they're not sure which ones get you high, or which ones give the better high. Cocaine is C17H21NO4 and there's no substitute for The Real Thing.
 
I agree there are many hundreds of different chemicals which all do various things, but there is a fairly generalised affect from smoking bud, an I accept that highs can still be differnt, affected by strain, THC and CBD content, but bud is pure it isn't cut(im 99.9 % sure mine isn't laced) so strength isn't affected by purity(as with coke). As cocaine comes from the coca plant can i assume that it too has a percentage of active ingredient.Or is it that the process of turning coca leaves to coke leaves 100% active ingredient.sorry if I am just repeating my self I dont think I really explained what I was thinking that well before.
 
Yeah, the process extracts the chemical you're looking for from the leaves. They mash 'em up and use different solvents to take it out.
The final product comes out usually around 90-95% pure, but don't quote me on that figure. There's always some extra crap that it's easier to just leave in I guess. More work might get a totally pure product, but that's pretty damn close.
I've heard of putting crushed-up Marinol on weed for a deeeeeep high, but the THC pill doesn't end up producing all of the effects of the various strains.
 
Thanks that was what I assumed after your post. I just got thinking about it after a friend wanted to smoke weed again but wanted some more mellow bud, then made a similar comment towards trying coke again.(long story behind it)
