coke help

OK...I heard that you can get a buzz from snorting coke, so I picked up 12 oz from some guy I know...It was really cheap, only about 50 cents, but when I tried snorting (with a straw) not only did it hurt, the bubbles made me sneeze, and made my nose burn. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to let it go flat? Would big K or sams choice work better than coke? How do I inject it? Any help would be appreciated.
