coke and... buspar?

This might be really dumb.

So I did an 8 ball today. That's more than I normally do. Anyway, as I'm sure you can imagine, the comedown has been ungodly. I'm a bit better now, still pretty bad. But my heart was beating at triple speed, so I rounded up some buspar. I took 25mg. I just wanna sleep and wake up and feel better.

So will buspar even do anything at this point? I know it's kind of a bitch drug...

Answer: no. It did not do anything. I was up until 3am, feeling like crap.

^ Yeah I've taken diphenhydramine for many a coke comedown. This and weed usually works pretty good for knocking me out.

damn, I'm sorry to hear that.. see, your doing coke which is blocking the re-uptake of a few neurotransmitters, but lets focus on it blocking the re-uptake of norepinephrine (NE). This leads to lots of NE in the synapse, which means you are wide awake!

This is my guess why the buspar didn't work. Buspar isn't a benzo! it works on serotonin and norepinephrine. The only bad thing is this:

Buspar is an alpha-2 antagonist. The role of the alpha-2 receptor is to stop the release of NE into the synapse. So wut u just did was you inhibited the inhibitor. This means you got more NE in your synapse, which probably got you feeling like shit until 3am..
