Codeine w/ Promethazine, need help

So I actually have a cough for about 3-4 days now and I used Dextromethorphan with Guaifenesin. I wan't to get prescibed Codeine with Promethazine, might aswell get some fun out of this. When I cough there's some mucus aswell. If I told the doctor that, I'm guessing he will prescribe me a syrup with an expectorant in it and I don't want that. I was sick with the cold, that's the reason why I got the cough. The cold is gone but the cough and music is still left. Do you think I have a good chance of getting Codeine prescribed since I actually used Dextromethorphan to get rid of it but it still hasn't gone away? And what exactly is Promethazine for? How could I get a syrup prescribed with both of those ingredients?
