Opioids Codeine Overdose.... eyes still EXTREMELY swollen

Hi guys,
Yesterday I did a CWE of about 400 mg of codeine. I thought I would be able to handle it but I was wrong. About 20 minutes after the effects kicked in I had a massive histamine release. I became so unbearably itchy. I've had the codeine itch before but this was different. My whole body was so itchy it was agonising. I also noticed that my fingers and my eyes swelled up to a ridiculous size. Like Bear Grylls after he got stung by that bee. I went and had a shower and threw up a few times. Then went and lay in bed. I was close to calling an ambulance but I thought I would ride it out. After an hour or so the itching mainly stopped and I was nodding extremely hard. I was worried about falling asleep so I went for a walk up to the nearest shop with my cousin to get a bite to eat and also buy some antihistamines (I had none at the time).

I bought a box of 25mg promathezine tablets and went home and popped one, and slept for about 16 hours (from 4 pm to 8 am). I woke up about an hour ago and my eyes are so swollen that I can barely see out of them. More swollen than they were yesterday. Is this normal? Is there anyway to get rid of this? I have to go to work tomorrow and don't fancy looking like this.

PS I know that codeine dose was stupid and I won't be doing it again.
 
I would reccomend seeing a doctor because if anti histamines haven't worked there is nothing else you can get OTC that will. This doesn't sound like a histamine reaction to me. It sounds like an allergic reaction. You need something stronger and only a doctor can give you that.

I don't think you OD'd on codeine as you haven't mentioned any respitory problems?

There is no way around it. Go to an ER or a free clinic or a doctor as soon as you can. If you are having any respitory problems call an ambulance ASAP.
 
Hey bud, I've done codeine loads of times before and never had a reaction like this. I'm thinking of booking in an appointment with a doctor. I don't want to go to my family GP and tell him what happened. I'm not having any respiratory problems. Just two big fat swollen eyes.

u should read the codeine and CWE mega thread in ADD , a few people towards the end of the chat have reported that it is typical for regular CWE users to have experienced an intense histamine release at one time or another , also your dose was nothing close to stupid , i am very opate naive and have only done a CWE 5 times and have done next to no opiates before that , and i do 400mg every time .

edit: still a good idea to see the doctor about those eyes .
