Codeine Cough syrup question

I was recently prescribed some cough syrup w/ codeine and I was wondering if there is form of extraction technique for dragging the just getting the codeine out of the cough syrup. Something along the lines of a cold water extraction? or is it stuck in the cough syrup form...or does it make any difference if I extract it or not?

I searched for an extraction technique for Codeine Syrup about a year ago with no luck...
I wouldn't just drink the Syrup, a little while ago, I was prescribed it for a cold, I consumed 3 tablespoons as oppose to the recomended 1 teaspoon and got a fairly long lasting stomach discomfort, probably from the Phenergan/Promethazine that's in the syrup along with the Codeine...
It says on Erowid that high amounts of Phenergan/Promethazine cause nausea..

Besides codeine, what else isin the cough syrup. It's impossible to find a way to isolate the codeine without knowing what else is in there.

I think the syrup can be recreational, if you like mild highs and have a low tolerance. 3-4 times the recommended dose leaves me feeling nice.

i found the codine syrup to actually taste pretty good! like fairnymph said, its pretty mild. its nothing fantastic, but if you have a cold, its fun to over do it a bit makes being sick that much easier.
i wouldnt worry about extracting it at all.. just drink the shit. its no where near as bad as over the counter cough crap.

I don't find much pleasure anymore in codiene. not sure why. maybe it is because I have a moderate tolerance now.
I must be lucky or something. ever since I remember my local family doctor has perscribed hydrocodone syrup. (Hissinex, Tusionex and th3 like)
If you do get some bad reactions. maybe next time you can report some ill side effects from the syrup and ask for something else..just an idea

That's right. The worst side effect I get from the promethazine is that it makes me tired and feel like shit the next day if I do it at night. It's quite similar to the feeling I get when I wake up after using benadryl to fall asleep. But it's worth it if you like codeine.

Seems that all of the hydro containing sizzurps that I have tried always tasted REALLY good, almost like a thick fruit drink. Particularly Tussionex. OTOH, all of the codeine sizzurps that I have tried (most often Robo AC) taste like pure evil...Wonder why that is? Anyone care to speculate?
