Codeine - Cold Water Extraction on different manufacturers

I realize there's plenty of threads regarding CWE, more exactly 113 results with "cold water extraction" in the thread title. And it is possible my question isn't answered anywhere in those 113 threads. So I thought the best decision was to make a new thread, if that was the wrong decision I apologize.

Anyhow, I have a choice to choose (legally) between two different Paracetamol/Codeine manufacturers. I checked up the differences between the excipients (I think this is what it is called, basically the other 'not mentioned' "help-substances) and there's some differences actually, to me they look quite major.
Wouldn't the manufacturer with less of these excipients be easier/better to do a Cold Water Extraction on rather than the one with more excipients?

So the two I have to choose from are both Paracetamol 500mg and Codeine 30mg and the excipients are as follows.

Manufacturer #1 contains (and is the most common one in my country, the one I was prescribed but a service makes it possible to change to another manufacturer with the same active substances and the same strength and is also the most expensive one): microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, colloidal silica and finally water.

Manufacturer #2 contains (this one I had never heard of but is a bit cheaper than the first one): corn starch, stearic acid, povidone and magnesium stearate.

Bare in mind that I have had to use Google Translate for these substances.

So what do you guys think, which one should I choose? Most commonly Manufacturer #1 is the one people are do CWE on but maybe that's because it's the one being prescribed mostly. If you go to a pharmacy you don't get the choice to choose a cheaper one with the same active substances and the same strength but I choose to buy it online (still, legally using a method identifying myself as me) and that webpage has a service where you can choose a cheaper one.

Like I mentioned earlier, to me it sounds more logical that doing a CWE on something with LESS excipients would make the final result cleaner. But I guess that also depends on what excipients are in the medicine. Hopefully someone here knows a little something about the chemistry behind the excipients. But still, the major reason you do the CWE is to get rid of the Paracetamol, I guess the it could be that the excipients doesn't really matter at all, or they do.

Have a great day!

Definitely a good idea to avoid microcrystalline cellulose (if you plan on banging/snorting it), and I'd wager the silica wouldn't do you much good either. Take it with a grain of salt, but I'd lean second.

Thanks man! I am planning on drinking it after the cold water extraction, mix it with water or something tasty since I've heard the taste of codeine is awful. But I guess the second one would still be the better choice then?

The problem with the second one is the corn starch, which will make the fluid somewhat non-Newtonian in nature, so if you use the second one be sure to use plenty of water.

Both of them contain corn starch mate :) But I know for a fact that people have successfully made CWE on the first choice but I thought that since choice number two contains less excipients maybe it would be better.

I failed and accidentally saved the pictures too big so here's the links instead:

http://i.imgur.com/7RTMbzL.jpg - Would you drink this? This is the "final" product. :( I think I might have failed somewhere, I was probably too excited and rushed things a bit.
http://i.imgur.com/cXk1tsh.jpg - But then there's this, I guess what's in the bottom is part of the paracetamol yes? This is from the glass that stood in the freezer.

Here's exactly what I did:
#1 Took some pills, can't recall how many because I did this a few days ago (started preparing for when I was going to be home alone). But it's the pills containing 500mg Paracetamol and 30mg Codeine. Crushed them just a bit.
#2 Today: Crushed them to powder! Really really powder.
#3 Filled a glass (similar to this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_ThfoEL5f0 but just a tiny bit higher) with lukewarm water. (Here's what I probably did wrong, I never let it cool to room temperature.)
#4 Instead I put ONE ice cube into the glass, and put the glass in the refrigerator.
#5 After 5 to 10 minutes I realized maybe I should've put it in the freezer instead so I did that and waited 25 minutes (I took the timer).
#6 I filtered the solution through an already wet coffee filter and voila, the results can be seen on the pictures.

Would you drink the glass in the first picture? I'm going to put it in the refrigerator in the meantime, until I get a proper answer, won't risk anything here. I realize there's some Paracetamol still in the solution but the question is how much and if it's too much to be dangerous.

"He who learns must suffer." :(

Update: It just hit me to filter it again and it is looking WAY clearer. This would be okay to drink right? I can post a picture in a while if anyone wants but it looks good.
