Codeine (153.6mg ingested incrementally) -- Second time -- Just sweet, sweet codeine.

I'm slightly concerned as to whether or not the whole "splitting down the middle" deal is sufficient in all countries.

I had heard that it was no longer possible to do this in The United Kingdom but assuming Nurofen+ is identical either side of The Atlantic, I am rather hopeful!

Would it be possible to perform some sort of test with the remaining 'should be ibuprofen' side, to confirm the 50/50 deal?

I'm only vaguely familiar with the cold water extraction technique - would it be useful as an indicator to show that the unused side was not codeine?

Shal, you cut lengthways down the tablet, and make sure that you cut through the small layer of coating. It's easy enough to test, make a small slit along the edge of the coating, then push down gently but firmly and your pill will split.

If you've done it the right way, you can see where the 2 halves have neatly split (or even if it's not a neat split, you can still see where it could be) , and if you're doing it wrong, try another slice on another tablet, you do get quite a few in the packet after all. And when you get the tablets to have a look at it, you really can't miss the N+ ;)

I advise that nobody assume that just because someone else has access to "splittable" N+, that they will too. I personally tried the CWE on one of my N+ pills, and yes, the halves were proven the equal 50/50, but I suggest you test for yourself.

When I did, I only used what was the ibuprofen part, and since ibuprofen is not water soluble, I was left with some mighty gross gluggy shit. Also, have a taste test of both the codeine and ibuprofen halves and see the difference.
