im sorry but what do you mean by your Soap? What do you do, do you have a thread, and how does it work? Im interested in this.

Do you have interest in making a thread about soap making? I been getting bothered about mainstream soap lately...we use Dr Bronners...its good I think (i trust andi)...but if we could make our own that would be even better...more independence!

If not the time/interest for thread starting then lets chat sometime about it...I want to learn

yea basically you want to avoid shower/bath products that contain preservatives and alcohols as most of them cause skin damage, are mutigens, carcinogens..... and don't be fooled by organic on the label as most of these products contain at least cetyl alcohol and sodium laureth sulfate.. nasty nasty stuff

you can't go wrong using mineral salts and essential oils tho. hemp oil and tea tree oil are good

I use grapeseed oil for all my "lotion" needs (which isn't many, I prefer to moisturize with diet from within), but the stuff is really awesome.

^ Grapeseed oil is definitely a great choice for a lotion - one could try putting it in soap, but it spoils very fast without artificial preservatives.

Kanye: Yep, I've been making my own soap for at least a year now and I'm finally approaching something I'd consider satisfactory . The process is far more delicate chemistry-wise if viewed through science, unlike your granny's rough-and-tumble lard soap .

Admittedly, lard's high Stearic Acid content is instrumental in making a soap-bar hard and long-lasting, which cannot be easily duplicated in animal-free soap.
