Cocaine Cocaine hallucinations - how prevent / treat ?

I don't know exactly how cocaine hallucinations occur, but in my experience, it was directly connected with anxiety / paranoia.

Does ansiolitics like benzodiazepines can prevent it? And in case they're already occurring, theres any antipsychotic that might help?

Are you getting this from smoking or injecting? Don't binge. It wont happen. Benzo's work. neuroleptics work the best.
 
Ok first of all: Eat and Sleep, hard when your on a coke binge, but gotta do it. You can hallucinate by just not eating and sleeping. Secondly, are you
A) Having chest pains?
B) The hallucinations are auditory and tactile (hearing and seeing)
C) Having homicidal or suicidal ideation?
If so, pleaseee respond or talk to a doctor

I only got that once, a couple months ago. I and only snort. I was only wondering if benzodiazepines can do the trick, as that happened only because I got really anxious about something. Wasn't even binging, or doing too much or too frequently.

As I said, I only had it once, months ago. I heard some one in the house, that was all. It was scary tho. I'd like to know what to take, in case it eventually happens.

Benzodiazepines tend to be the perfect remedy for ANY negative side effect caused by cocaine in my opinion. They take away chest pains, fast hear rate, high blood pressure, anxiety, "comedown" effects, etc....
I would definitely reccomend using a benzodiazepine as soon as you finish(or are about to finish) taking coke.
Also, auditory hallucinations on cocaine are extremely comon and in my opinion, they occur almost every time someone takes any significant amount of cocaine. So honestly, if you dont want auditory hallucinations, you shouldnt be taking cocaine. Im pretty sure its a widely accepted side effect of cocaine use. In fact....its even listed on Erowid under "Efffects" of cocaine...

Im getting the feeling that cocaine jsut isnt the drug for you. You seem to dislike one of its most common effects....and thats a sign that you should move on to something else. In my opinion, amphetamines(not methamphetamines) are good at giving stimulation without hallucinations.(atleast not until you take massive doses). But you may be different, who knows.

Sure, especially with poor quality stuff.. Ive been able to get a very high quality material but sill want to perform an acetone wash. Will do that soon as I get some friend's help.

Meanwhile I'll have some xanax in hands. Thats always my benzo of choice, but It would be nice to hear some better suggestions.

that wasnt really a suggestion. it was a fact. its a fact that auditory hallucinations are a very common side effect of cocaine. You cant just get rid of that. The only way to avoid it completely is to not do coke. end of story. Im sry its not teh answer you were looking for but its the truth.

*Im not sure what you mean by..."sure, with poor quality stuff"....if your saying that auditory hallucinations occur more often with poor quality coke, you are mistaken. Its an actual side effect of the cocaine itself....therefore, the more pure the coke is, the more hallucinations you are gonna have.

Actually, what I meant was (IMO) poor quality cocaine usually leads to anxiety, and therefore paranoia. As for the suggestion, I was referring to a better benzo option than xanax.
 
IME the only way to get past that is to freaking get some sleep, whether that means taking a benzo to help you get there or not that's pretty much the only cure for those delusions/hallucinations. (i don't have experience with cocaine specifically though, only other stims)

heard in my head was the sound of POLICE RADIOS LOLZ!!!
 
The more often you do it, less it's worth doing it.

Anyway, which antipsychotic would be recommended, in case you do too much and start hallucinating / been paranoid?

LOLOL.....And no matter HOW LONG you stop doing it and trian your mind that "i am not important ..noon is going to be out there" THERE IT IS!
when I fist di base and it was REAL COKE (20-25 yrs ago) I remember listein to music and hearing the artist add extra lyrics and it was SO COOL especiallay when i am a musician..also i write music, prtetty soon i noticed my fingers were on the pipe more than the strings. Anywqy dude, benzos work for coming down. Once you have flipped to the dark side and hear the cops..your done. Now that I am on opiates its not as intense, but i dea with the fear to getting the rush. But it is sad that i would pay to be miserable. I been wanting to go to bolivia to the cocaine bar whrer i hope i woulndt worry, then again i might fuigure i am there on the day they finally bust them and im going to be gang plugged by bolivians...so yeah..no matter where you go..the middle of the woods "THEY" will be watching you/ I have had somewierd stuff happen to whrer i wonder maybe it is aliens???
 
i know you wanted suggestions other than xanax but i used to snort my xanax after i did coke, works way better than eating it especially when you're buggin out like that :)
 
The antipsychotic will bring you right down.


Benzos and clonidine work well on a binge. You'll live longer.

The only real way to get rid of the 'creepy crawlies' is to start and end with a speedball I have found. One in the beginning prevents the jonesing and at the end it just puts an end to the whole thing. Just need to be very f'ing careful.


Someone close to me went blue the other day but was revived (again) without EMS. They had been off H for a while and thought they were being super careful. 1/2 point and some blow and bam. Down they went. Lucky others were around.
 
^ I used to do the same thing but it only helped with the edge..if youve got to the cop paranoai stage and voices the heroin only mkes it more real..and yo can see them in the bushes far away. Someting in coke that once you snap that thread in your mind that keeps you from spycosis..its done. Benzos will help you feel better get the "egde off" but paranoia during high..nothing. I am sure a heavy antipsycotic would just take awy the effects of coke as it would fill the same neural ports
 
Well, in my experience, it only happened once. I completely link that episode to anxiety. As long as I keep the use spaced out by a month or so, I'm ok. No delusions what so ever.

However, if I keep doing it too frequently (not necessarily too much), then I keep getting more and more anxious, and so (inevitably) paranoid.

I don't like to do more than 2 grams at a night (high quality, tho non-filtered), and I don't like to do more than once a month. That way, I don't even find the need of a benzo to come down.

As for opiates, I do have some Codeine in pills in hand, but never tried it, nor alone or with coke. But how does it compares to xanax in order to aliviate cocaine anxiety/paranoia?
