I had just acquired a 8 ball (for personal use) and was planning on using it IV. The first shot was fine, but not the bell ringer that I was looking for. The second one missed, but the third one... I wanted to get a good bell ringer. I inserted the needls, registered, and shoved off.

I felt the rising effect, taste in the back of my throat, etc. It was at this point that I realized that something wasn't right. Suddenly, with out warning my body begin convulsing violently. I never lost consciousness nor did I void bowels or bladder.

I violently convulsed for what felt like several minutes, and then slowly digressed down to shaking and breathing rapidly and deeply. I couldn't really talk other then to say each syllable or letter with each breath. I didn't feel as if I could my eyes open for very long. I had ended up on the sofa, and was able to, with much difficulties reach my cell phone and after several attempts, I was able to call 911. With much effort I crawled to the front door, about 3 feet from where I lay. and unlock the door. I don't think that I ever lost consciousness. They got me to the hospital and I was able to answer name/day/time type questions correctly, and at some point for some reason, they gave me Versed and proceeded to "defib" me, I guess to reset my heart. It was at this point that I died. I think that my heart was stopped for a couple of minutes.

They wanted to implant a permanent defib, but decided not to until I did the rehab thing and got off of the IV heroin. They initially wanted to give me narcan, but I persuaded them not too, as it had been 7+ hours since my lsat shot of herion.. I'm going to call the rehab center tomorrow because I need to clean up, and if LE does come into play, I think that by seeing my getting ingo rehab. Let me know what you think. Especially if this has happend to you. After being in the hospital for 2 days, I came home to find my coke and cooker gone, but all my clean and dirty needles still there. Even the mostly empty H caps were still there.

Best of luck with rehab...not my favorite experience. And grats cardiac scar tissue; hopefully that's the only permanent fallout from your OD.

Sounds like it was probably coke ;) The heroin was just an additional mention.

its good to see you made it out ok, and its even better to see that you're goin to seek treatment for your condition.. good luck

What is, "grats cardiac skin tissue"?
(Con)grats, you more than likely have significant cardiac scar tissue from that experience. (I wasn't trying to make light of your experience by saying "grats"; I ODed twice on meth and once on coke in the past 6 months before getting over my death-wish.)

*edit* I need something better to do than go around BL improving the grammar on my old posts.

Most likely answer- your heart was in a very fast rhythm, they gave you sedation and did a synchronized cardioversion. This helps to break the really fast rhythm and restore a more normal one.

Sounds rough. Good thing u were able to call 911 and that u realize u need to take it easy with that stuff. Good luck with rehab

lay off the needle bro......I think once it gets to a point that injectibles are a major part of life it is time to go straight.

To get the "bellringer" effect off coke it has to be injected in a pretty high dose. Snorting won;'t cause it. Search this forum with cocaine IV** to see it explained.

Would smoking crack not cause the 'bell ringer' effect, and be safer too?

Crazy story there mate, i'm sure its probably a good wakeup call though!

I've never tried real coke or crack in any form but if i remember from reading reports it is when you shoot up coke, your ears ring very intensly, pretty much blocking out every other sound around you while having an extremely intense body high/rush.

A bellringer occurs when you have so much dopamine running through your brain that in your ears, you will ear a high-pitched sound, similar to that of a thousand bells ringing constantly. It's overwhelming, every gets a metallic overtone to it, sounds become almost tangible in the way they reflect off objects. The high-pitched sound is comparable with a train coming at you it's so massive.

The theory is that you have class 3 tetinitus [sic] from so much dopamine rushing through your system. I'm sure you know what dopamine is...

You can't get it with snorting, and it's very rare to get on crack. Many smokers will claim they get them, but they don't compare at all to an IV bellringer.

You're lucky to have survived. We all have a number.

Agreed, I've had experiences where I think I'm pretty sure I spent as much time in the 'exit' line as the 'entry'
