my sis asked me to help her on a report...and i'm lazy about doing it b/c i don't use drugs...but anyways..
if anyone would like to volunteer some serious, scientific, psychological, biological, etc..whatever info on cocain.. please feel free too...
I need to know.....
1. How it is used.. (medically and illegally)
2. % base of Americans using it...
3. How it hits the streets (either from medical offices or illegal transport across national borders)
4. Chemical formula
5. what else is cocaine used in....what in the past has it been used in (Is the Coca Cola thing a rumor?)

dunno percent of americans who use it, thats really impossible to know.
Hits the streets illegally by being shipped across from south american countries, etc.
It is used to get high, usually in a social situation but addiction can manifest into a solitary drug, etc.
I don't know about the coca cola thing, sounds like bullshit. The rumor is they put cocaine in coca cola to get people addictive, but cocaine isn't active orally at that low of a dose, you would have to eat ounces of it for it to activate orally, etc. So, I call bullshit.

Not to be snarky, but report writing is supposed to be about research and compilation. So have her do some research, or get her to buy a prewritten one from some shady student.
Start at the standard sites - erowid, lycaeum, etc..
Research does not mean asking for freebies on a discussion board.

The Cola thing is true. Originally it did contain cocaine since they made it using a slightly different process that didn't remove it from the plant extracts properly. Later on the makers removed it on health/legal grounds.

Yeah, I don't know if the rumor is true or not, sounds like bullshit, cocaine has to be refined from the plant, etc, but the rumor was that cocaine was added to get people addicted easier, etc, which is false, since cocaine is active in oral doses that low. Thanks.

i think the coke in the coke was just to give you a bit of energy. i think they replaced it with caffeine when cocaine became illegal

The reason Coca-Cola became popular in the first place was because it became famous in Atlanta for being a hang-over tonic. The original Coca-Cola recipe contained, a small ammount of alcohol, cocaine, and caffeine in it. Here's a really good article about Coca-Cola and why Cocaine was eventually taken out of it.

Meatpuppet you really shouldn't have a Kerouac quote in your sig unless you have done or at least wish to do drugs. The type of person who would avoid that experience because of fear of addiction or what have you is utterly anithemical to the manic craziness of on the road. (Yes kerouc did as most do change as he grew older but this isn't the point).
