Cocaine Cocaine cut with Amoxicillin? Safe for IV use?

A friend gave me some cocaine he found out was cut with Amoxicillin. Since that friend only insufflates his cocaine and knew I have shot up coke before, he passed it along thinking a use might be found before it was deemed totally useless. Would the prep for IV use filter what Amoxicillin was there or would its presence just be benign from the start? I am making no attempt at the batch until there is some more support to prove the safety of the procedure. Anyone have any thoughts?

water solubility 3430 mg/L

This means it is kinda soluble in water. For every mL of water you use you could theoretically dissolve 3.43mg of amoxicillin. I do not know who much amoxicillin is actually in your product, though, but even if you fixed up a shot using 1mL of water, you won't get very much at all into your shot.

From what I have read briefly, amoxicillin is perfectly safe for IV use. Based on your claim about your product, if it is infact cut with amoxicillin, simply filtering with cotton will not remove it. You would need some advanced chemistry knowledge in order to seperate it. Now it is up to you if you want to go ahead and IV some.

I don't recommend it based purely on harm reduction, but hypothetically I do not think it will cause any serious adverse effects.

Now if someone smarter than me can add to this, or tell me if I am for some odd reason incredibly wrong, plesase do and I will edit my post.

Yeah based on what I looked into that seemed to be the case, with a little bit of solubility I knew some would make it through and that just leaves me with figuring out the details on what it would do once it enters the veins. I'm going to sit on the batch and give ample time for people to toss around some ideas. If nothing else comes around I will either toss it, snort it, or do a safe experiment to determine the steps that follow. Thanks for the info man.

It's a surprising cut as it's a prescription antibiotic no? The solubility will likely depend on what form the amoxicillin is in but either way I don't think that any of the salts in your veins is that bad.

Be sure you do an allergy test as penicillin is a pretty common one.

Yeah I was surprised as to the cut itself as well, but my friend claimed he had seen it after he took the issue up with him. Also in water Amoxicillin smells a lot like cocaine, like surprisingly so, and the taste was not salty (baking soda cut) it was much more of a pill/medication type smell. I assume it is most likely harmless, and as for allergies I've been free of those my entire life so thats going for me here. The guy apparently had a temporary prescription from a dental visit, most likely a root canal type deal I'm guessing. As for the form it came in originally I'm pretty sure it was a powder inside capsules, the oral medication form, just not something made for alternative administration.

The problem is that coke cut with amoxicillin is probably cut with the amoxicillin tablets, which is full of binders and inactive ingredients which are bad for IV usage. The user should invest in micron filters.

How is amoxicillin to snort? If I used it to apply a liquid measure of a substance would that make a decent thing to snort up? sorry off topic but i thought of it and didnt want to forget. Also, why not just filter a cpl times? less n less amoxy

Yeah good point.. Though I believe the OP said they were cut with amoxicillin capsules, containing powder. Now I am sure there are still some fillers in the capsules, but it would contain less binders and stuff than actual pills. Now using a micron filter would be advisable regardless.

Thanks for reminding me.
