Cocaine Cocaine causing strange buzzing noise?

Hello, My buddy has been a long time heroin user, and now recently added cocaine user. His preferred method of administration is IV. He does 2-3 dope shots a day to keep himself from getting sick, and occasionally he'll throw some white in with it and do a speedball. 3 weeks ago he let it get a little out of control, and pretty soon every time he did a shot of dope, he had some yayo mixed in with it. Then he proceeded to get even worse and pretty soon was up to 4-8 speedballs a day! Luckily with my help, he has pretty much gone back to normal at this point. Still does the dope every day to keep away the DTs, and will once again occasionally mix the two for a speedball shot, but no longer is he doing every day, let alone doing 4-8 a day. After two weeks of that many speedballs a day, he needed to cut back.

Now here is the strange part.... He began to notice after the first two weeks that every time he did a speedball, he would start to hear this buzzing /vibrating sound. Almost as if there was a car that just pulled into the driveway, or a plane was flying over the house. Also similar to a humming base noise that would come out of a subwoofer. Innitially he actually thought it was cars driving by or even the neighbor next store playing music loud, and he was hearing the base from that music.. This strange sound continued on for the next week (which would now be the 3rd week), even though he had majorly cut back his cocaine use. However still, every single time he does a speedball, he hears the vibrating bass sound without fail. He's always asking me if I hear it, and I don't hear a thing

He thinks he's heard the noise a couple of times when he hadn't recently done a shot but he can't recall. The other very interesting thing is that he usually begins to notice this noise a good ammount of time after doing his shot, even long after completely coming down from the coke. Normally he'll do the speedball, he'll stay high from that speedball for 20 minutes, Maybe 30-40 min depending on quality and how long it's been since his last shot. And even though he has heard the noise
during that first 20 min period while he's still high, 8 out of 10 times he doesn't. However, after he has come down from his high and feels completely sober, and another 30-60 minutes go by, he'll start to hear the vibrating again. A good hour to an hour & a half after doing the shot.

We are both also very aware of the bell ringers you get immediately after doing a coke shot, and this noise is absolutely nothing like that ringing in your ears. It's not even close...

So does anybody have any ideas what's going on here? Has the coke caused some kind of clot or blockage? Or is it constricting his arteries? Basically just doing anything that could maybe be causing him to hear his own blood flowing? or heart beating?

Or is he just really hearing a noise that is on such a low frequency that I myself cannot hear it?

Well hearing a metallic ringing noise from shooting cocaine is normal, I believe it's called tinnitus and it's caused by high blood pressure within the ear.

EDIT: Oh read the end of your post, yea i don't know what to say then sorry.
