We never had 'our song'

Instead we had our wilder days

And had our evenings long

We never had undying love

We never looked to Fate

Arranged instead to meet with friends

Always arriving late

So now the dance is over

So now I stand alone

With wafered, sodden memories

And no voice on the phone

So now I hear you kissed him

So now's a time to leave

To walk toward horizons

And recall what I believe
