Benzos Clonzepam for panic attacks- public speaking

if you havent taken benzos in awhile, just swallow the klonopin 2 hours before the presentation, because when it kicks in at the initial first hour, it may make u feel too loopy to act correctly in front of people, after hour 2 you should be nice and settled. dont take them sublingually if you're not a regular user. klonopin is a great drug, i been on it for a year since i got off of xanax, and now sinc ei been taking it so long, i feel the effects of it wihin 10mins of ingesting them. You may want to ask your doctor about Klonopin Wafers (its klonopin made for sublingual use). Stimulants such as dexedrine and Vyvanse that people take with anxiety problems are an issue with some doctors who have patients on benzos. my doctor had me on klonopin and adderall at the same time, and always urged me to get off the adderall because they fight against eachother he says, and my panic/anxiety issues won't be resolved being on both. he has a VALID point, i need to take MORE benzos on stimulants then i do off stimulants, which causes a problem of tolerance. my doctor approved of having me on both, but always encouraged me to get off the adderall, he is real big on checking my vitals. one time my blood pressure was 148/70 i believe and a pulse of 115, he almost didnt give me my adderall. NOW he did discontinue my adderall because he doesnt wasnt me to have increase of panic/anxiety, yeah so alot of doctors dont agree with patients being on both, its either ya want anxiety relief, or ADD meds...the only exception i ran into was a psychiatrist who gave me dexedrine 15mg twice a day along with Temazepam 30mg at night..

Well I didn't tell him i had full blown panic attacks, just extreme nervousness with presentations, and he probably knows Xanax is highly addictive ect. I'm aware of its long half life and its slow onset, thats why I asked if I should use it sublingually. My doc said take it 1-2 hours before the presentation and I should do fine. I should tell you guys I'm also on Vyvanse and Dexedrine if needed, although I might not take vyvanse the day of my presentation because it might counter the effects of the benzo.

What route of administration and dosage would you guys recommend to help me be smooth for my presentation? I have taken benzos in the past but my tolerance has gone pretty low since I haven't used them in a while.

Brings to mind that dude that was? is? running for republican nomination for prez who was all stiff and rigid in body movements in one of the debates I watched, then I saw him doing some intervew or something and his presentation was completely changed. He was all loose and using slang and stuff. Turned from a rigid stiff older white dude to.... someone who looked like he took some benzo's to loosen up because an advisor advised him to try and change his image to be more personable but he wound up overdoing it by ingesting some benzo's. Anyone know the guy I'm talking about? Anyone have a link to the interview? A before and after youtube would be a great demonstration of what taking too much benzos can do to someone who comes across as stiff and rigid at a public speaking engagement and then chews a couple of xanax or whatever and has zero tolerance. Wish I didn't have such a terrible memory (don't do too much pot kids and don't get head trauma lol) and someone who was internet/computer savvy so I could post links to show the huge before/after.

Was it Rick Santorum?

I'd be interested to see it if you can find a link. Unfortunately "rigid stiff older white dude" doesn't narrow down the republican candidates, at all.

Clonazepam is nt that good for panic attacks IMO, unless you have an innate sense that you will probably have one within the next two hours. For me, I do not feel the full effects of clonazepam until 2 hours after I've ingested it. IME, it's better as a treatment for GAD.

Alprazolam on the other hand, has the fastest onset of any sublingual/oral drug I've ever taken. I can feel it hit me before the pill has finished dissolving in my mouth-which is why I never understand why people would want to shoot them..

as a musician with intense stage fright, my doc rxed me beta blockers. they have no mental impairment, but eliminate things like nausea, sweaty hands, racing heart, nervous shakiness. they're really helpful. i would never be able to perform beethoven with any mental impairment...

Wow.. never thought of people having speech impediment & anxiety disorders at the same time :I Depending on ppl must be rough sometimes.. I think sometimes speech impediment increases ppl's persona

Man i would take at least 2 mg..never tried K-pins my self but im working getting a benzo script soon...SO far they are wasting my time with BuSpar.when i go back, ill play that bitche's game one more time and let her prescribe some other bull shit drug but the time after that im gonna straigh up tell her that all the shit she prescribes is bull shit and im not gonna waste my time unless she actually gonna help me ya know?
I mean, shit i really do have anxiety, AND it even interferes with my LIFE, but all these doctors are PUSSIES, they are scared to actually help you, its all about how many scripts they can write for NON-ADDICTIVE drugs..even though SSRI'S are ACTUALLY ADDICTIVE

And yea i would take some morphine with them k-pins(dont overdo it man forreal thou) you'll be hella fly....shit if i had morphine and oxy i'd prolly say fuck a benzo, opiates are better for anxiety, just dont snap on people for making loud noises lol

Don't take benzos before any important presentation unless you

a) want to look like a blabbling idiot, or
b) you have a tolerance and they dont intoxicate you like they would to someone who has never taken any benzos before\

Drug wise, youre better off taking opioids/opiates for a presentation.. atleast you wont slur your speech and youll be energized (if you have a tolerance)

Damn right man, they go hand in hand sometimes. For me one intensifies the other too, pretty awful if you ask me. I had to practice about 30 times before the presentation so I'd be fairly smooth, even though I blocked up a few times. If it wasn't for the clonazepam I would of blocked up way more, had it happen to me in the past, and i was depressed for days afterwards.

Anyways 1 mg clonz 2 hours before presentation, and then .25mg sub-lingual 20 mins before relaxed me a bit even though I had a rapid heart beat and other crap, but atleast I didnt let my group down and got everything out. ( I think we did a great job too)

and ye man I know how you feel about doctors not prescribing you stuff, luckily I found this private doc who is bomb and isn't afraid to script me just about anything, before that I was getting scripted SSRIs and it was just so shitty...

Thanks for all your guys inputs by the way.
