Clonidine and dilaudid?

If you have read any of my previous posts you know that my pain management doctor dropped me because my husband stole my medication. Anyway, I went to a new PM doctor whom was really mean and a self-acknowledged asshole. Long story short, he cut my 180x 8mg dilaudid down to 90x 4mg Dilaudid. And said that would be the first and last time he would ever give me a narcotic for my condition. He also gave me Clonidine 0.1MG pills. I used to be prescribed Valium and took it nearly daily for my tremors until I combined way too much of the medication with my dilaudid while I was at Johns Hopkins for a test (which resulted in several shots of narcan).
Anyway, what I'm asking is are these Clonidine pills any good or comparable to Valium? Can they boost my dilaudid?
Thanks.

Clonidine does not compare to valium at all. I don't know where you got that fucking idea at. Clonidine is a old blood pressure medication while Valium is a benzodiazepine. Clonidine is mostly used these days for opiate withdrawal and hot flashes. Combing it with opiates is if anything more dangerous then mixing it with a benzo.

A 5 second google search would have explained the difference in these 2 drugs ya know :\

Yes, I know what it is and how google works, thank you. I just wanted a perspective from a recreational drug user.

I was given Clonidine once when I was leaving the hospital for one of my many many (alcohol) detoxes. Let me assure you first that when detoxing, only shot of Zolfran (anti nausea) and a shot of ativan will stop my endless cycle of throwing up battery-acid. Anyway for discharge the give me clonidne instead of ativan (understandably so for a drunk). Those next 24hrs I was having the worst of shakes (not from detoxing, I've been through that) but from anxiety and high blood pressure. Damn eating I could hardly stomach drinking Gatoraide. I had a trip to see family too coming up the next day. I seriously was some of the worst anxiety I've had in a while. Knowing the pill wasn't a narcotic like ativan or even something like a xanax, I took it telling myself over and over it was going to do shit. I'll be damned if not halfhour later my stomach had chilled, enough to the point I was telling myself I was starving. I couldn't go to sleep that night cause my body felt SO much better. Things to know is that clonidine is a beta-blocker, they give it a lot for kids who are detoxing (though I am an adult) and for young adults for mild-anxiety. In fact I still have them prescribed to me and take them when I feel my anxiety start to go up. Their not as effective as xanax like that but when your talking about your anxiety going up vs a full blown attack, then yes I like to take them over barbiturates instead and save my liver. When you see your favorite celebrity making an ass of themselves, like their drunk and the next day the say "oh no, I just took a beta-blocker", they mean the took two with five glasses of champaign. Beta-blocker meaning it stops your brain from sending and reckognizing the receptors that want to produce adrenaline and also try to slow down your respiratory system. So in short; it depends on you. If your Ds make you a little sleepy then yes, it will boost that effect. If you want to have one drink and make it feel like the effect of two, then by all means take one shortly before you have a drink (which of course you should NOT be doing while on Ds). But if your looking for it to make you extra spacy it could but I'm thinking at 180*8mgs your tolerance is a bit high. They will probably mos def help work if you do take it with your Ds since you are cutting your dose in half, it will help with some of the anxiety symptoms you will probably experience will cutting back so drastically but I would save the most of them for when you run out of your Ds all together, they CAN help when you start going through that anxiety.
