Benzos Clonazepam WD - what to expect?

I'm nearly certain that Klonopin is considered to be able to be prescribed for daily use safely & without much risk of addiction for an approx. 6 week time span. So if you stop taking the Klonopin now, you should experience little to no withdrawal symptoms. However, because you were taking a lot of Klonopin each day for somebody without a tolerance, I'd recommend tappering down to 0.5 mg per day for about five days instead of withdrawing cold turkey... I mean, it certainly can't hurt.

Clonazepam Withdrawal (?) What am I in for?

Not much, slight discomfort maybe, you're not to deep down the rabbit hole yet. Try and keep it that way, benzo addiction/dependence is a monster, quit while you're ahead :\.

taper off.

i was on the klonzies for about a year when i was younger and i think the best idea is to just decrease the amount of the pill you take. i don't know if it was prescribed for anxiety or seizures or what but six weeks isn't bad at all. just go slow with it and you'll be fine. i starked by taking a quarter of a half of a pill for a couple of days and then a quarter and then when to zero. just remember to keep a couple around in case you do feel strange or think you came off too fast but most likely you wont need them. let us know how it goes.

i'm going to merge this in with your other thread.

there are many many benzo withdrawal threads on here so using the search engine will most likely reveal the questions you're seeking. we get these threads weekly, pretty much daily.

This period of time could certainly be unpleasant to come off of, so I recommend to pretty much right away dropping to 1mg/ day or less, and to start skipping days in between doses. This will act as a good transition between dosing daily and not dosing daily. After you do this, just start fitting as many days in between doses as you can, and you should get out of this relatively easily before it gets to the point of needing a long, gradual taper, which would be needed with even an additional 2-3 weeks most likely. If you put this off, just remember that every day you prolong this will make the addiction you have more serious and difficult to break.

Good luck.

Edit- ...So pretty much the same advice I gave above applies, except that now, the caution is stronger: you have pretty much reached the limit of still being in the limbo stage between a binge and an addiction.

I absolutely agree that I need to do this now. I wanted to know what I was to expect with my duration and amount of usage. Though a rapid taper might be advisable, I didn't want to prolong any discomfort so I stopped CT yesterday. Yesterday morning was my last dose of the clonazepam as I take it three times a day, at least .5 mg every time. Today I took a Fiorinal, and a small dose of promethazine to help make this more comfortable. If there will be any wd's coming, at what point will it be the worst? I have no history of seizures, but still wanted to be assured I won't experience any. Is this CT safe? And when when will it be the most challenging to endure?

It is likely not lethal, if that is what you mean. I think that CT is a poor idea in almost any situation as the change is so drastic, which the body doesn't really tolerate well. The experience of w/d is not good for the body and should be avoided if possible (which it certainly is).

It will probably be worst around day 2-3 and last for an unknown amount of time if you do CT...

Will taking other benzos during this wd (alprazolam) reset the wd's in any way? Would it prolong the experience, and do I need to wait to touch any benzos until the clonazepam is completely out of my system?

It will probably help a little, but your addiction is to another chemical and they are not fully substitutable for one another.

Regarding prolonging the experience, the thing that has the potential to last the longest in your scenario is the lingering effects of a cold turkey quit. A cold turkey quit easily can be a traumatic experience to the body, and the trauma can cause a wide range of behavioral modifications. If you're traumatized by the withdrawal symptoms of benzodiazepines, you will change to cope with the symptoms, and this change does not go away as soon as the acute phase of the withdrawal ends. Things like rebound anxiety are bound to be much worse after a traumatic benzo withdrawal; this is what you want to avoid, and why I am recommending that you smoothly transition to sobriety rather than abruptly.

Now, it is Wednesday evening, and I haven't taken any clonazepam since Monday morning. How long must I wait until I use the clonazepam again without resetting the whole dependence/wd cycle, or will I now never be able to use it PRN? I would like to use it as needed, but like I said a daily dependence was something I had to stop early.

What about trying to Xanax as needed, but only if the anxiety gets really horrible. If you've managed to for almost 3 days without your clonazepam then you're doing well!

Maybe take 0.5mg now as a reward! (and so you're not cold turkeying.) Then see if you can go another 2 days or so.

How you feeling?

i take one mg klonopin a day and ive stopped ct and had no wd's

my mom was addicted to bars for years
rehab five times,
i doubt you want to go to rehab five times so my advice is dont take any
