clonazepam vs Lyrica

I'm on Day 7 opioid free, and I finally feel as though I'm turning the corner. Thank heavens. Even with med support by my doc, it felt like this was never going to end.

My doc gave me a clonidine patch and clonazepam. They keep me relatively (!) calm and without the creeping skin and chills. I also got my appetite back. I've been reading on here that Lyrica is also a good drug to take, and I happen to have a prescription from before. My main issue right now is extreme fatigue. Like, level 11 out of 10. Have to rest before even talking on the phone. I know that fatigue is a symptom of withdrawal, but could it also be a symptom of the meds I'm taking? (My blood pressure readings are normal.) Would Lyrica give me more or less dizziness and/or fatigue than what I'm taking?

Also, I periodically get this weird buzzing in my head, like a mild electric shock. Not painful, but I can hear it in my ears and feel it in my head. I've never heard of that before. Any clues???

Thank you!

All of that sounds normal. As for Lyrica (pregabalin), personally I love that stuff. I used it to cover up opiate (kratom) withdrawal once, and it worked almost 100%. In fact I felt AMAZING, I liked it better than the opiate I was covering up. And therein lies the potential for a problem. I'm sure that if I had had a large supply I would have abused it. I think it will work much better than clonidine and a benzo, but it's also quite recreational (for many people). Be careful not to end up with a new monkey on your back.

I also like Lyrica, maybe even love! Anyway, it does have some anxiolytic effects similar to benzodiazepines, courtesy of Wikipedia. The only problem is that tolerance develops quickly. It works good for me due to the opiates I take for pain control.

Btw, Lyrica, at least for me, was a real appetite booster so be careful!

Thanks to Xorkoth and edgewise1 for their replies. So...last night I took Lyrica before bed and it was the first time I slept straight through without drenching the sheets in sweat. I took it again in the morning, and feel fantastic! Energy level went from a 1 to about a 5, which really helped my morale. I'm day 10 clean today. Had a doc appt, and he was talking about long-term maintenance on suboxone, or trying a different dose of oxy. I told him that I NEVER want to take anything that will possibly make me feel as awful/deathly has I have in the past 10 days. I finally feel like recovery is within reach (as opposed to praying for someone to drop a big bottle of pills in my bed). Thank you.
