I started taking clonazepam earlier this year, and started at 0.5mg a day, then 1mg. I noticed the next day after taking 1mg, I would feel a sharp pain in my chest over my heart if I took a deep breath or sighed. It took me a while to realize what the connection was. If I took 1mg two days in a row, it became nearly unbearable.
I then avoided taking 1mg a day and only did 0.5 a day, and did not have this complication. The about 4 weeks ago, I stopped cold-turkey due to job interviews. I did not want any sort of false positive, even with a prescription. So I had a bit of a long withdrawal, and my heart thumps loudly now and again and is sometimes fast. Now that interviews are over, I started taking it again, and today I feel the same odd drunk feeling I did after starting them the first time. I started with 1mg and slept for a *long* time, then the next day in the evening, I felt the same familiar "sharp" spike in my chest when breathing in too deep when i sighed. I had forgotten about that side effect. When I was taking them at first the first time, I think at one point it had gotten so bad each time I breathed in (not even very deeply) that I started being a bit concerned, but it did go away as I lessened the amount.
All I read on the internet says that chest pain is a 'rare' side effect that most people don't get. I'd like to ask everyone here, if you felt it before when on clonazepam/klonopin. I think the feeling does go away the longer I'm on it, maybe, because after a few months I was taking 1mg occasionally each day and didn't feel it - but I was taking random amounts so I can't be sure honestly.
