Clenching Teeth

How bad is it if you crack your jaw? It sounds odd but I used to do this years ago but I don't do it anymore.

I do see dentists and they've said how I have excellent teeth, gums, etc.

Doesn't usually mean too much. It is the cartilage disc "snapping" or popping back into position. Plenty of people have cracks and pops with out any other symptoms. If the obstruction is severe enough you can recruit the muscles unevenly from say left to right and that may in turn result in jaw aches and pains. The only other concern you may have is as you age you might find degeneration of the joint space because of it and that may lead to other problems sort of like arthritis. These are pretty rare though and most people will be fine.

Jaw clenching... a few people have come to me about this. The best thing that seems to work is the nutrition route... foods high in B12, magnesium, phosphorous and calcium. These are all involved in the nervous system or muscular contractions and they are the ones most depleted by intense drug use.

It's also a nervous tension thing. People hold their tension in different places on the body. For some people it's the lower back, for others its their hands (i.e. nail biting and moving their hands a lot), others it's their restless feet, and for others its their jaw.

If the supplements don't work then you'll have to get a mouth guard to at least stop the damage done at night.
