Small tip. It's odd but I found the best way to clean the black areas on a rose bowl is to use ashes. Get the outside slightly wet. Roll in ashes. Wipe clean like a bartender cleaning a glass.

Haven't used it. I just use a torch lighter only downside is it leaves dents on the bottom of the pipe.
