percs are incredibly hard to clean but it's possible just takes alot of time and effort - or you could use Grunge Off which is a great product (read non-iso based)

i'm not sure if it is possible, and it's driving me nuts. the way the perc gets so close to the little ice catcher hole makes it impossible to get anything i can think of down in there. i even went to the head shop today and bought this bendy wirey brush thing. not even close.

is grunge off stronger than iso? strong enough to remove tough grime without having to do anything but shake it around?

yes its stronger than iso, make sure you get the black bottle tho-u dont shake just let soak overnight

I would suggest trying oxyclean free. It has always cleaned my glass pieces with no scrubbing at all.

Fill the top of your tube with salt. Use a whole box, it should cost you a dollar or something. Then poor a whole bottle of iso-alcohol through.

If you are brave, you can push the alcohol through by blowing into the top. Forcing the alcohol and salt through the perks is very effective, but be careful not to inhale any of the alcohol vapor!

Poor hot or boiling water through to clear out any remaining salt/alcohol.

Wouldn't acetone remove that shit? If so, go to your hardware store get pure acetone (not like fingernail polish remover), as pure acetone is rather volatile and evaporates pretty damn clean.
