Classical on E

classical room at the rave.........i don't think so!!! but we should maybe get together one day and go to a concert whilst rolling .....................
i am also a big jazz listener. like fusion (stuff like early herbie hancock, billi cobham etc..)
and while i 'm at it!!! this is the question that i ask every three years or so to an unappreciative audience:
"does ANYONE love old frank zappa stuff "??????
meff

I would have to say, not to demean any other posts, but finally something of worth!!!
We should all embrace this idea of a classical room, I think it's a bloody good idea personally.
Stravinsky and Ravel are amazing. But try The Prayer Cycle by Jonathan Elias - you'll be creaming.

BWWAAAAAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
ARRRGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry for that outburst. I just had to call Ian Chaplin (my sister's boyfriend, otherwise known as the ex-cabbie who carried a 5" blade around with him
wink.gif
)
wondering if I should tell you all if it's true or not
wink.gif

anyway, he says thanks to the person who gave sim such great publicity to post that
smile.gif

(and do check Decoy out... Mr. Horse is right about how good they are)

p.s.
Ian's not a nasty guy
frown.gif

but it is funny how peoples' reputations can get twisted around like that. it makes you wonder if all the bad stuff you hear about, say... Rich
smile.gif
e Rich, ie. bullshitting about Earthcore being cancelled, lying about internationals, etc. is all true?
oooo!

Damn.

There always has to be somebody who ruins nice rumours. Of course, this was word of mouth and I take full responsibilty for spreading the shit. Rumours will be rumours and they are there to be spread. I didnt see any such event, just heard it from friends. hehehe
I have loved Ian Chaplin for bloody years. *god in ma eyes!!*
So, if you speak to him, tell him this: that had he stuck around at wangarrata last year, he would have played with vincent herring, who invited him up on stage as "ian chapman" but it would have been awesome. Also, how come he didnt play with scott tinkler then as well?? I want answers lil monkey and i'm relying on you. hmmm, I got his phone number. I might ring him up for a lesson. Always wanted a lesson of Ian Chaplin.
Also, if anyone wants to go see him, decoy are playing tomorro night. Email me if ya wan't details and we might make a night of it.
Also... he has the same light stealing jumper as me. Well... I had it first Ian!!
hmmmm, am I obsessed??? Perhaps just a little

Mr. Horse,
I'll pass the second message along
smile.gif
I promised to save the first for him, he enjoyed it so much... sure, ring him up for lessons
smile.gif

haha! what light stealing jumper? *curious* *wants a light stealing jumper, whatever it is*

ok lilmonkey: to save severe embarresment, could I please edit the post *lightly* so the rumour stays but my stupidity goes. I really am asking nicely here. Please please please.
A light stealing jumper is a jumper with reflectors on it because when you take a picture and someone is wearing it, it absorbs all the flash-light, so the photo doesnt come out very well, thus the light stealing jumper (aptly named by sass)
he has got a navy blue polar fleece jumper with a zip down the middle and a reflector down each arm with a navy blue thingy and a white thingy. Hard to xplain

hahah! it's cool about the rumour. it's a pretty good rumour... Ian's gotta be proud about that one. but can I show him the original, along with the edited one?
smile.gif
I've already read out the original one to him, hehe.
aaaah, I know what you mean about light stealing jumpers!

i came home tripping at 3am to an empty house once and decided to play some piano..
i jumped ontot he piano, pulled out some of my old music (chopin piece i think?) and started to play..
man, i was all OVER the place. never made so many mistakes before ever! :-] but damn did those keys feel nice, and the difference in volume from harder/softer key strokes were insane! :-]

William Orbit's Pieces in a Modern Style is great to listen to when coming down.
I once got winched in and out of the bush 5 or 6 times from a helicopter at over 100ft while on E, that was an awsome feeling.

Sometimes you people amaze me. I often thought how awesome a classical/techno/housey type thinging would sound. I mean clasical really knows how to build and release.... I thought William Orbits album might be the " big thing" but was dissapointing in the end...... I guarantee some genius will make a great classical/techno album that will break barriers and " Crossover" ( as bad as that is) sometime soon!At least I know the opportunity is there!Know if only I had a shred of musical talent Hhhhhmmmm?
