Claim that Lower Dose MDA Is Somewhat Similar To MDMA?

I have been listening to a Hamilton interview, where he is interviewing a clandestine chemist, the title is, I think, "The Price Of A Free Education".

In it, the chemistry makes the claim that lower dose MDA is less psychedelic and more like MDMA, specifically mentioning about 70mg dosage for this claim.

Has anyone experienced or heard of such? Of course a lighter dose would mean lighter psychedelia, but is lower dosage MDA closer to MDMA, perhaps just a touch less empathic, or is it just less psychedelic?

For me (~200-225 lbs, earlier experiences ~170) MDA and MDMA both have unique characteristics which overlap moreso at lower doses than higher doses. 30mg-60mg of MDMA and 25mg-50mg of MDA, or 60-90mg of MDMA and 50-75mg of MDA are somewhat equivalent in potency if I were to hazard a subjective guess. Once you surpass 90mg of MDMA or 75mg of MDA, you begin to really feel how different these drugs are, where MDA feels more like mescaline/2C-B/other psychedelic phenethylamines, and MDMA feels more like methamphetamine.

moreso but theres really zero discomfort or anxiety, the best word for it the impression that lasted with me is pastel rainbows. I also saw the face of a friend in a rave divide in tons of tiny cartoonish flowers once on a pill that allegedly was mda based and had to get away because I was trying to talk at the same time and it got overwhelming; but that was a mix Im pretty sure. On pure mda I never really hallucinated just frainbow soft flashes and softer colors.The entactogen edfect was the MAIN thing if we class that as hallucination then oh boy yeah. YOn smowballs you lightly touched your arm and you moaned like a caveman.


but if i’m not mistaken, shulgin and Nichols tried N methylation on a variety of amphetamines/phenethylamines. alkylation of the amine reduced activity in almost every compound except MDMA(gives affinity to D1 as opposed to 5-HT2A). This is why MDA is more “psychedelic” than MDMA.

Pure MDMA straight from the flask still has meth-y qualities compared to MDA or 6-APB in my opinion. Anything that gets my teeth grinding like that, the similar tactile feeling, etc I consider to be "meth-y".

Also yesterday I made a thread about recreating the effect of MDMA using natural, legal herbs...don't get me wrong, it's actually a hardcore, risky combo...but it seems to have great potential for those who can dose responsibly: Herbal ecstasy is real

I've seen 750mg of MDMA in somebody ~150 pounds induce a state of complete dissociation and peculiar hallucinations. I've seen doses between 1-2.5 full grams induce absolutely terrifying hallucinations like you've described here.

Comparing MDMA to meth at all is kind of an insult to MDMA. lol

I did meth for 20 years & have had my share of MDMA experiences. Although not as much as I have with meth, but I mean I grew up doing triple stacked pills in the early 2000's.

A meth experience is much more visceral & a classic stimulant experience. Meth doesn't really cause the empathy (maybe somewhat in the beginning of the high, but not as strong as MDMA IMO), tactical effects or that comfy body load MDMA gives (kinda how Krinks describes as an 'opiate high'). And any hallucinations from meth usually come from the sleep deprivation rather than any psychedelic property.

There's a few cross-over similarities though, sure. Horniness, teeth grinding, etc..
I think meth makes me way more horny than MDMA does though. MDMA is more introspective & trippy & meth is just more raw hardcore dopamine fueled self-indulgence.

These are the specific points that I consider mehy/similar to a high dose of dextroamphetamine.

It reagent tested clean and I literally watched the synthesis process with my own eyes man, I don't know what to tell you, I'm just speaking on things I've seen and experienced.

didn't read this thread, but imo, no mdma and mda are pretty different for the body high... maybe cause i smoked weed on the mda, but mdma felt a lot stronger body high, and mda was more chill with closed eye visuals and some open eye visuals at the end of the trip.
