he whisps in and out of my life,
like an angry forsaken wind
tearing through my thoughts and mind
scattering my sensibility
like crisp autumn leaves,
caught in a whirlwind.
they can not free themselves,
and are forever stuggling against the sheer brute force
of everything that he is,
everything i see in him, everything i remember,
everything i have since discovered.
everything he's unwilling to give.
yet still, i wait, and hear his voice
dripping with scorn and contempt.
and i can't figure out what i ever saw in this person,
this person who i held in such a dear light.....
....and now, i see him for the truth of what he is.
so i stand tall, asking the wind to tear it away.
letting the wind whisp away all fear, all doubt, all rejection.
as it whittles me down,
turning confusion into dust,
which, in turn, covers the earth,
all the purity of me is left,
standing strong,
alone,
in the eye of the storm.

ex's can be so confusing. contempt in their voice, shattereing whatever strength you built up since the split, betraying that trust you put in them, somehow pushing all the right buttons to make you feel like it was all just one big elaborate joke on you.
but yeah, got to keep the head up!
peace outtie
