Cipralex/Lexapro Withdrawal

Hey my doctor prescribed me cipralex/lexapro. I really don't want to take it but my family is pushing it on me hard.

I was just wondering how long you have to take it before going through SSRI discontinuation syndrome.

If I take a low dose like 2.5 or 5 mg would I avoid the discontinuation syndrome?

I prefer to stick to my clonazepam 1 -2 times a week.

Thanks a lot.

It's difficult to predict how long you have to take the medication in order to trigger discontinuation syndrome. The same goes for the dosage question.

Long term dosing, meaning months of use, is bound to initiate withdrawal.

Do your research in regards to SSRI withdrawal, assess the risks, and make your own informed decision. Don't allow anyone to marshal you into making a decision, including your doctor.
