Cigarettes are driving me nuts :(

Nicotine is evil lol Cream, your right.

I got some massive headaches everyday so far that start off in the mid afternoon and they intensify throughout the evening, it feels like pressure in my forehead and when I stand i feel it throbbing for a while, its all good when i sit down but the headache remains, but when I get up it does the throbbing and it hurts, after a good night sleep im all good.

I'm become very irritable, I dont feel deppressed though, just abit crazy when I see smokes lol.

I cant wait for the day I'll be able to resist to these without problem.

you only smoke to feel the same satisfaction that a non smoker feels all the time.

think about it. you just smoke to relieve the withdrawal effects of nicotine.

do you remember your first cigarettes? i bet they were disgusting and you had to force yourself to become addicted.

I agree with you for the physical side of smoking, but I also get to enjoy the actual smoke itself too when I smoke. You know what I mean? As if the smoke is a fun thing to do just in itself, nicotine aside.

Man I quit smoking for 3 years. Smoking since I was 10. I decided to start smoking again when I was on opiates... Eventually ull be able to go back to the smoking section and not smoke. It will probably take a month. Just dont go back until your used to saying no in every possible situation. Ull stop craving em bro!

let me guess - you've read Allen Carr The Easy Way to Quit Smoking?;)

OP - Lazy is absolutely right. i smoked for 8 years and was one month tobacco free on 2-12-11. Feels amazing.

lol bro I saw that guys main spiel on youtube and when he was saying it so slowly and making it out to be this amazing fucking discovery I laughed so hard. Its such a fucking common knowledge thing and he wrote a whole god damned book about it and called it a secret fact? lolz.

He left out the fact that some people just fucking like smoking though. As in, they just really want to smoke even if there isnt nicotine in it.

still quit. dam its tough.sigh wondering when it just not even worth quitting cos its alredy fuckd. like its to late, nicotine gums are gross.mouthso dry.whyyy?

Most lethal drug in my opinion and its ... still on the market but hopefully they will get banned... oddly enough diphenhydramine use helped me kick it... over sensitivity mixed with the deadly effects of tobacco .. said enough...
took me around a month or so before I said enough and just crushed the whole pack. good luck, happy camping

apparently our lungs don't heal/repair themselves but rather quitting just prevents further damage. wow that bleek because the reason i'm quitting is to improve my fitness!!

I'm not sure if thats true, I can't back it up with any of my own sources currently. I believe the peak is over for men with healing/regenerating in your lungs by the age of 24/25. I could be wrong.

damn i wish i never started! still feeling commited though. 22 years old, smoking since 13... thats 9 years...with probably 4 year pack a day habit!

Three weeks clean %)

It's worth it, guys. The major drawback is to not relapse if there's something really shitty happening. Fingers crossed.

GJ :)

Yes, shit always seems to hit the fan after quitting for me too.

Any of you guys try the patches before? I honestly thought they helped me quite a bit, and I felt chill all day. Then the gf went to jail, out goes that haha. They do tend to give intense vivid dreams to some people, I thought they were cool.

I need to quit soon, such a waste of $$$. Oh, and they kill you :(.

^ Thanks. I'm allergic to the patches, alas. I have some nicotine gums, they work fairly well.

At the end of april, all the packs will have some shocking images (cancer and so on) on them. Another incentive to stop smoking (the insane price being the first for me). No way am I gonna buy some cancer images...

lol^

into my 3rd day w/ nicotine and im kinda restless either from the w/d or the caffeine. about to go lift which helps, then either going to help a friend move or an NA celebration. also, gum has been really helpful, i was driving by myself yesterday and felt an urge coming on so i just chewed on the gum really hard and got through it.

thats bs. There are some scars that will never heal, but ur lungs compensate by making the little oxygen sac things(forget what they called) more efficient.

Great job :)

We've had those nasty pictures on our cigarettes packs for years. Never really met somebody that actually quit because of them...

@calmAnimal: I remember reading that after quitting the body metabolizes caffeine more slowly so that it is suggested to reduce to half your normal amount or so. I have not bothered to look much into this, but it may help with jitters. It would explain why smokers tend to drink more coffee in general.

^hm thats interesting. for some reason i have it in my mind that caffeine helps w/ the cravings and w/d's but this is just my thought i have no sources or facts to base it on. (stim-stim was my reasoning)

i will cut back on the coffee and caffeine altogether in a couple days cuz i know that its not too good for me.

Yeah I've tried drinking coffee to deal with the cravings. It did kind of help but it also turned me into a complete nervous disaster. Good luck man :)

Great! day four! last night was terrible. i felt like i had a cold. was watching live Muay Thai fights and that inspired me. i've noticed coffee is definitely more effective than usual..

I would go throughout opiate wd rather than Nicotine wd, FYI...

Been a daily smoker for 9 years now and it's the first thing I do after waking up. I also use rolling tobacco for my joints and love good cigars (Davidoff / Balmoral / A. Fuente etc.).

Opiates make me chainsmoke for some reason, also the ritual itself plays an important role for me. Good unbleached rolling tobacco gives me something to do with my hands, I just like the feeling of a cigarette between my fingers :\ %)

Mmmh... that's a little extreme, don't you think? Nicotine physical withdrawal is a walk in the park, what's difficult is the psychological side.

The cravings don't last more than a few minutes, but I agree with the fact that they can last a long time in extenso (like a few months).
