need help coping with significant fatigue complicated by seasonal allergies (ragweed) and non allergic rhinitis; I am very sensitive to weather (barometric changes) and temperature changes.
For example, cannot go outside after hot shower in winter without getting very fatigued, headache, mental confusion. Psuedo ephedrine I have used for years; modafinal helps but only marginally; ritalin is best but cannot get it prescribed. any suggestions ?

Coffee, energy drinks?
Caffeine pills? Cigarettes?
I hate stims besides the ones i just mentioned lol..
Good luck, and Welcome to Bluelight %)

Try Redline.

Hey Tbone and welcome to BL. Chronic fatigue is awful i had it. I would go to another physician. I used lamictal in conjunction with ritalin to cure myself of chronic fatigue. fibromyalgia, irritable bowel, and sarcoidosis.

Please read through this thread.. i know its name will not seem to be relevant but this thread contains a bunch of information you may find eye opening and helpful.

An article I wrote on help with withdrawal, inspired by the Thomas Recipe

Do you have sleep disorders?

I would also throw down huge for the exercise.. and I already know what your going to say.. how the hell do i exercise if I can hardly walk.. just push and do it. It helped me significantly. Here is some information on what aerobic exercise does.

Exercise and Brain Neurotransmission
Neurobiology of Exercise
Exercise 4 Health, Mental Health, and Addiction vs. I worked all that out

What is going on is that you have a pan hypothalamic dysregulation. The hypothalamus controls all of your symptoms.. research it up.

Hang in there<3 and please see a doctor that does not have their head up their but.

I found that chronic sinusitis with comorbid sinus polyps seriously affected my outlook and energy levels. It can be like living in a fog when not able to breathe properly.

Surgery helped with the polyps, and strong antihistamines (really just remeron) eliminated allergic inflammation and related sinus infections. The downside to most antihistamines is, of course, sedation. The newer classes (3rd gen?) such as xyzal are supposed to be much less sedating. Personally, nothing has helped like remeron, however I haven't taken others on a long term daily basis.

The effect of sleep quality was a very good point above. After a sleep study, I was found to have moderate sleep apnea. Likely due to genetic issues - jaw structure, etc. It's not necessarily a concern only for those who are overweight, older, etc.

Welcome to BL.
Chronic tiredness gets better when you start to exercise.
This is very common to see when you stop taking drugs, more specifically those stimulants like Ritalin.

How are you sleeping? This can cause daytime tiredness sometimes.
I have chronic fatigue, due to feeling weight in my body from chronic neck pain pressure, as well as being slightly hypothyroid at the moment. Lamictal has helped me, but it also made me a little wired… and gave me a rash cos of my autoimmune stuff.
I take those vitamin c packs in the morning, and various amino acids specific to tiredness. There are a lot out there, also protein drinks. Agmatine gives me energy and it's an amino acids. I also don't eat fatty or fried foods, they slow me down.
My doc yesterday told me i absolutely 'must' get my heart rate up. my bp is 'very low' - as well as heart rate.

Exercise is so key, in any form. for me, it doesn't give me as much energy as others, or like it used to in my youth, but it gives me a boost for a few hours as well as a healtier outlook on life as it gets the chi flowing and stagnation out of my bones. Gotta get out and do it no matter what, even if it's walking for 30 minutes.
Getting on the floor and stretching too, is so helpful… it opens the body up generates energy. :)

NSA, Yes I got the rash, so I had to stop taking it immediately. The medication was working a little at the time too, so I was bummed. I had my vit D checked and it was in the normal range, but low end, so I take supplements daily. Should I not be taking those (vitamin d)?

Don't know why people are recommending stimulants, they make chronic fatigue worse!

You need to boost your blood pressure naturally. Astragalus (astragalus membranacus or chinensis) works well for that, along with Chinese ginseng (radix ginseng), and black cohosh. If you're a vegetarian, trying increasing your saturated fat intake (butter, lard, bacon fat, etc.). Another herb you can take which regulates the heart is hawthorn, in tincture form. The literature calls it hypotensive, meaning it lowers blood pressure, but one or two drop doses actually regulate the blood pressure in either direction depending on what is lacking.

Sometimes there's no cure and you just have to move. I current live near the coast and I'm planning my escape because the low atmospheric pressure makes me extremely tired on the worst of days.

Yes, my roommate is in his addiction still.. He went away to rehab is back and using, smoking meth again and can't get out of bed… having debilitating fatigue. He had 8 years clean… he is a mess. 8(

Smoky,
That´s not good for you.
I know it´s not that easy to resolve this, but you have to be strong and try not to get involved with his problem.
You have made it and you earned it, every minute, every day. I´d try to find something that makes you happy.
Wish you all the strength you´ll need!

I believe this can be done a little later. Instead of doing it after you have just stopped using.
You must keep distance from anything that affects your judgement that can be a trigger to relapses.

That´s why proper amounts of vitamins and exercise can make a difference.
For me the problem was always postponing the inevitable. But I can definitely see the difference when I exercise, for instance.
The body heals more rapidly and we can avoid other problems.

Find a way to get your blood pumping, activate the brain and stimulate yourself that way.
Also, make sure you eat enough carbs, vitamins and minirals.
Food paterns matter a lot more than people think.

Yes, I have let go of it. I can't control, change, cure anyone.
If he dies I have come to terms with that… He is on many many substances… The problem lies in when he doesn't pay the rent… I am calling the landlord monthly to make sure he is getting it in this year. We don't communicate, he avoids all of us. Last year he almost put us on the street.
Thanks E! :)

b12 shots. go to your primary care, and they could offer this to you

Ever tried nootropics? I think they work well. There is an excellent beginners guide on reddit. I am taking noopept stacked w/ CDP Choline but that's to help my cognitive function. I recommend perhaps L-Theanine // Caffeine stack :)
