so I have an opportunity to go to basically any treatment of my choice located within the US. I am looking for an opiate based treatment program with a good detox program. I would rather it be a bin twelve step program as I have had enough of the 12 steps. Id like it to involve a good amount of spiritual therapy (i am mainly buddhist) such as meditation , tai chi, yoga, etc. And/or acupunture, massage, chiropractor care and other means of pain management. Regular phone use would be nice as I have wife and daughter at home. I also like to be able to be aBle to read my own books etc. Also dont wanna be locked down all day. I want to be able to get outside abd enjoy nature and not feel like a criminal . I have found a few promising leads such as las Vegas recovery center http://pain-detox.com/index.htm tho it sounds like almost no outdoors time and minimal, controlled phone usage. Perhaps I am asking too much but if anyone can help id really appreciate. I need to get in asap. Thank you !

I don't have any experience in this kind of thing, but it occurs to me that you should be more concerned with a facilities' success rates as opposed to your own personal freedoms when inside the facility itself.

You either want to get clean, or you don't. There's always going to be hard work associated with that journey :\

I agree, but i know many of the times those success rates can be way off. Many times they are based on follow ups ~1month after patients return home. Some are a year. There would be vast differences between the two. I am really just looking for a more holistic route with some spiritual aspects. This is voluntary so its not like I'm gonna want to try to run or avoid my own program. It's just after many experiences with many facilities, I know what helps ME and I know what odoesn't. I found a program that sounds great but a bit too spendy. it would begin with ibogaine therapy for detox program and then continue on into a 30 day or so holistic program which offers a broad array of therapies and options to fine tune your program. I have never tried ibogaine but I have done a lot of research and have done a lot of self help through psychedelic so that would be ideal. Sounds like I will probablly attend one in CA I found that offers many options as well to fine tune a personal program, using bupe for detox. Either way, I know the most important thing is what I make of it , and I plan on 100% dedication. I need to do this. My life is falling apart and I'm afraid I will have nothing left if I continue on. I just really wanna make sure that I find what offers what I need and not just a repetition of previous 12step programs. It's hard to make a choice when the decision is up to me where to go. Don't mean to sound like a snob or anything !

Also, does anyone happen to have any good books to read while in treatment? Last time, 'be here now' and 'mindfulness' really made an impact on me. Looking for something along those lines. Something to help reflect and integrate.

:} I am nervous but hopeful

Thank you.
