Chocolate experience

My girlfriend is a chocoholic, so I decided to make her the richest, most chocolately cake ever for her birthday. I went a little crazy and got 10x5oz. bars of 100% pure, high-quality cacao and a large can of cocoa powder. I assembled a four-layer cake, using all the ingredients. Now this is A LOT of chocolate.

The cake was luscious. After we each had 3 or 4 pieces we felt a mild euphoria that lasted a few hours. When we smoked a blunt it turned into a deeply relaxed feeling. It also made both of us feel really horny. :)

I think all this has to do with the high theobromine and phenethylamine content in chocolate. Perhaps there are other psychoactive chemicals. I'm sure it could be a powerful rush if taken in higher doses. I suggest eating raw cacao beans or using 100% pure dark chocolate - and always have some pot to smoke.

Has anyone else eaten enough chocolate to have a psychoactive experience?

I scoffed five easter eggs as an 8 year old one Easter.Projectile vomited and got everything but euphoria .... Aswell as getting a one egg chocolate ban every Easter after that.

Most people would probably start too feel sick before they got "euphoria" from Chocolate. Unless maybe it's has a really high Cocoa percentage.

I didn't eat Cadbury eggs, I ate several ounces off 100% pure chocolate . Most baking chocolate is about 70% pure.

I definitely felt something, partly because of the weed. Theobromine is a known stimulant found in chocolate and does cross the blood-brain barrier. Phenethylamine is found in chocolate, but doesn't have psychoactive effects in small doses, due to quick metabolism. In fact, it is sold as a supplement called PEA in amounts equivalent to what would be found in the amount of chocolate I ate. There are many reports online of people getting an amphetamine-like rush from taking this supplement, especially in combination with weed.

I read about chocolate and how if you eat a TON you receive a sensation similar to that delivered by THC. I don't know though, you would have had to eat a lot. A LOT...

Try it for yourself if you don't believe me!

Melt down 5 to 10 ounces of 100% CACAO chocolate bars with some some milk. Add honey, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar...whatever you like. It will be the richest hot chocolate you have ever tried. It won't be bitter and it shouldn't make you sick. Just drink it slowly, smoke some pot and feel the effects come on. You will definitely feel a mild high.

Chocolate dealer trying to up the amount he can move?

Personally I couldn't stomach that amount of coco. Seems like a fun experiment though. How about smoking the pot first to get the munchies to make the chocolate easier to get down.

I don't think it would be too difficult for the average person to stomach 5-10oz of pure cacao bars. That's only 1-2 bars (more if it's not pure. If you don't like the bitter taste, it's easy to melt this much chocolate into just 2 cups of milk like I mentioned above. Hershey's regular dark chocolate is only 35% pure, which will not give you psychoactive effects in normal amounts. You have to use pure, minimally processed cacao, like Ghirardelli brand (my personal favorite).

Not only should you smoke before and after, you should perhaps try to dissolve some THC into the hot chocolate. I think this is possible because of the fat content. Then add some Kaluha or something. Mmmmm

i remember reading somewhere that ancient maya's used cacao as a stimulant. though im pretty sure that'll require pure cacao (very bitter).
it was a drink of the gods in their culture, and the beans a highly valued currency as well.

Pure chocolate also has medicinal value. Not only is it full of antioxidants, but it is a very good cough suppressant...proven to work one-third better than codeine.

The recreational value of chocolate is debatable, depending on purity, quality and your own body chemistry. For example, phenethylamine (PEA) is usually broken down quickly by monoamine oxidase before significant quantities can reach the brain....some people who take MAOI drugs may experience much more pronounced effects. Others may be naturally sensitive to caffeine and, logically, would also be sensitive to theobromine (since they are both methylxanthines). I have also heard that THC increases the action of PEA.

It's also good to note that chocolate contains tryptophan (a precursor to serotonin) and anandamide, (an endogenous cannabinoid also produced by our brains). And don't forget caffeine.

Chocolate definitely has recreational....potential....

I have tried 20x theobroma cacao extract before and it was definitely active. Not sure I liked it that much because I don't really like stimulants. It did have a nice taste to it though.

Given the psychoactive substances proven to be present in cacao, it can definitely be considered a drug, mild as it is. I happened to have a pleasant experience because of the enormous quantity of pure chocolate I ate and the bomb weed I smoked after.

I'm not claiming you will "trip on chocolate", but there is definitely potential to feel good and enhance your mood. Just try it!

It also more strongly affects those who are sensitive to drugs in general. My doses of things tend to be lower than what most people need and a cup of tea will get me moving. :)

I have eaten 70 and 85% cocoa chocolate before and definitely get theobromine/caffiene/PEA effects from it. :)
