Child eats mom's LSD-coated candy

Poor woman.

Mind you, that really must have been distressful for that small child.

it seems like this story comes out of the woodwork every so often. all the stories sound similar anyways...the kid accidentaly takes some candy does with LSD and trips out...

i wonder if lsd at that young of an age would do serious damage or if the kid just wigged out for a few hours and is fine.

I'm of two minds about this. One: new mothers make mistakes. This was a horrible mistake to make, but in the end, more harm will come to the child having it's mother ripped away than a lsd trip. Two: I was about her age with a baby and I NEVER once kept my drugs anywhere in sight of my child muchless within reach. My motherly side is outraged and has no sympathy whatsoever.

I hope this experience serves to straighten her up, hopefully she'll be smarter about where she keeps her drugs(even temporarily). Prison isn't the answer for this poor woman. But that's another argument entirely.

why didn't she just give the kid some otc sleeping pills or some cough syrup to make her fall asleep?

taking the kid to the hospital while he/she was on 2 hits of LSD was not only unnecessary, it probably led the trip in the wrong direction and traumatized the kid. plus it got her arrested

It is terrible that the laws of the USA are set up in such a way that a mother who tries to get medical assistance for her daughter is arrested for doing so. This only further discourages parents from getting help for their children when an accident involving drugs occurs.

Obviously she's a terrible mother but I'm afraid that this will teach other terrible parents not to get help for their children.

^^I went to high school with her, she has to be one of the dumbest people in existance. Noone figured she would even survive this long...
