Chicago may ban little baggies

Glass pipes, plastic baggies.

It's not like these things can't be substituted. It makes things less convenient but is hardly going to affect the drug trade anywhere.

Please, someone explain to me, how someone dealing illegal substances is going to be affected by legal issues surrounding plastic bags, especially if the only reason for anyone to see the bags is during a deal?

what a load of fucking shite. they've already banned plants and animals, this needs to be stopped.

By the way, they're probably doing this to encourage larger quantities to be distributed, so THEY can profit. if this seems weird, research about how the govt. owns drug distribution.

In other news, because people use lighters to smoke weed and crack those are illegal now two.

In other news, drug dealers use cars to transport and sell drugs, those are also banned.

In other news, drug addicts use needles to get high, so all needles are illegal and hospitals can't use them anymore.

Lets make more shit illegal...

don't forget bank notes, for they are being used to snort drugs ;)

tweezers are only used as roach clips, so they're out.

soda cans must be destroyed and discarded immediately after consuming the beverage.

mirrors are definitely contraband.

aluminum foil? i'd like to see you try to find a legitimate use for foil...

I have seen a news story where a man had the money in his trunk confiscated by USA police, because it could have been used to buy drugs or some shit 8)

Sure it was like 100K but to confiscate cash without the presence of drugs or anything illegal, is a fast track to facism.

This measure will end all drug dealing and/or use in Chicago single-handedly. Way to go Alderman Robert Fioretti!

WTF is an alderman anyways?

Alderman. There are fifty Chicago Alderman, one for each of the city's fifty wards and operate as a city-level legislative branch.

It's honestly the same old shit with these people. They want to legislate against and control the dumbest things (ie, ban foie gras and now little plastic baggies) when we have bigger problems, ie. crumbling public transit infrastructure, more oversight into TIF Fund expenditures, cleaning up neighborhoods.

they are indeed more practical than plastic baggies. there's always some stuff stuck to the plastic baggies that's hard to get off. i usually transfer anything i get from the baggies into paper folds.

I have always like paper better anyways. cuz when i was done with it i could just roll it into a ball and it just looks like trash. but ya got a empty plastic bag and u can see residue on it. i have cleaned my car out before and found old plastic bags in my car that were empty fallen between the seats. im like lucky i never got pulled over and searched.

I used to use those lotto tickets you fill in the numbers. and people could just ask if i got any tickets for the upcoming lotto drawing.

do still have that tin foil hat ?

Don't forget money is used to buy them too !

Let's just BAN EVERYTHING and issues special licenses to sell any type of product that can be even remotely linked to drug use, then sell them all in one big building with cops doing instant drug tests on all purchasers right on premises. 8)

Ald. Robert Fioretti (2nd) persuaded the Health Committee to ban possession of "self-sealing plastic bags under two inches in either height or width," after picking up 15 of the bags on a recent Sunday afternoon stroll through a West Side park.

Some people actually voted this idiot into office? If I lived there I'd be in deep shit for having lots of little plastic bags full of shock horror electronic components.

As somebody mentioned, is cling film next, along with paper as those were the packaging methods used before plastic bags started being used.

Not so queer (or stupid) as folk - esp those seeking an elected office

Hate to point this out, but in some senses it's not a fast track, you're already there (Dept of Homeland security Ministry of Truth)

Yeah I agree pretty much. Poor wording on my part. Fast track to full blown fascist state I guess would be a more apt description of where we are all heading.

Hahah, bigger baggies are fine with me.

hmm.

"self-sealing plastic bags under two inches in either height or width," = illegal
thus there will be a surge in demand for plastic bags greater than 2" squared...

plastic comes from oil... need more oil to make bigger plastic bags...

EVIL OIL CONSPIRACY!!!!!!!!!!!
