Why is it ironic? I privately pay for my methadone. If the government wasn't involved with all of their bullshit federal regulations, I could get it a HELL of a lot cheaper and it would be a thousand times more convenient. Not to mention all of the benefits that real competition would bring to the table. Being on methadone maintenance gets you familiar with the wastefulness/inefficiency of bureaucracy in general and you become well acquainted with the huge hassle of government regulations and how they can directly interfere with my ability to choose the best treatment for myself. So I really don't find it ironic at all. It makes perfect sense to me.Wait a good week before starting the naltrexone. Over the summer I got a script and had been relatively clean leading up to it and had only taken a total of 2mg of suboxone 6 days before taking the naltrexone, and boy was that a mistake. It caused precipitated withdrawals and after reading some more I learned that 10 days is becoming the more accepted waiting time in order to prevent the PWDs, and even 14 days for people coming off of maintenance. Too many people were going into withdrawals when waiting a week, so make sure to wait although you could probably get by with just waiting a week considering your last use was a tiny amount.
You referring to a 'HamsterDam' type market? As long as the police can monitor it so that dealers aren't killing eachother over turf it could work, or at least wouldn't get any worse while keeping the judicial system freed up more.
I've gotta point out the irony in the second half of your post coming from a person on methadone maintenance.
