I've been smoking regularly for about 2 years, but recently I've developed an extremely annoying, painful and even scary reaction to weed. I'm currently prescribed a low dose of xanax (3 doses x 0.5mg = 1.5mg/day) for social anxiety issues, but that's mostly gone and I just like having the xanax
Anyways, here's the main problem: Starting about 2 months ago, about 10 minutes after toking up, I begin to feel a very powerful and painful "pressure" in my whole chest, especially over my heart, as well as my strong stomach and throat discomfort. Then about 5 minutes later, like clockwork, I begin to develop bad anxiety and start shaking a little bit. Within a few more minutes my entire body sometimes begins "seizing". I have very rapid, involuntary muscle movements all over my body, which can be very painful and also exhausting. For some strange reason I develop a limp in my left leg and have to struggle to walk. But within another 10 minutes or so, it all disappears and I feel nice and high, as if nothing had happened. The whole ordeal only lasts about 20 minutes, then all trace of it just vanishes.
I've gone through this cycle of smoke, feel absolutely terrible for about 20 minutes, and then just feel normally stoned for the next several hours, probably about 50 times by now. I haven't quitb ecause I love getting high, but I REALLY hate those 20 minutes of pain and anxiety.
The weird thing is, I've tried taking Xanax beforehand many many times, and the anxiety melts away but the pain and "seizing" remains. One time I actually smoked a good amount of black tar Heroin, popped a 2mg xanax bar and 800mg Neurontin (a very nice anti-seizure/pain medication) and was feeling great. Then I decided to smoke a bowl, the same pain and seizing thing happened again. If fucking heroin, xanax and neurontin can't at least mask the symptoms... it seems like something is really wrong
At first I thought my heart was beating too fast but my heart rate is generally pretty stable (60-70 bpm) even during the anxiety attacks. The pain isn't focused on my lungs either, because I can smoke cigarettes with no problems, have a great lung capacity and almost never cough. I've tried smoking at least 6 kinds of bud, all kinds of smoking methods (pipes, bongs, blunts, everything), and nothing seems to be the cause. I also tried taking a 3 week T-break, but the pain and anxiety actually got worse afterwards.
I'm just really frustrated because I love smoking weed so much, and I've been doing it for quite a while with no big issues, but then this crap has ruined the beginning of every single smoking sesh'
Any insight?
